Slightly better than ours since you ask. Dier will do really well for a team who defend in a low block and don’t arse around at the back: I’m hoping West Ham don’t sign him
He didn’t do too well in our low block last season when we conceded 63 goals.

And do you honestly feel we now ‘arse around at the back’?? Or is it fairer to say we draw teams onto us so we can play through the press? The tactic that saw us absolutely flying before injuries decimated our squad.

Funny cos last season I remember lots of aimless passing across the back line with no purpose, often leading to conceding a goal. Now remind me who was in the middle of that back 3?

I don’t think we arse around at the back now, never said that. All I’m saying is I think he would be well suited to a side that has both a low block and doesn’t arse around at the back, like Everton or West Ham. We did arse around at the back last season, which doesn’t suit him. But I wouldn't read too much into any individual’s form last season especially when conte left and we started conceding 2.5 goals per game

If we get a fee out of this I’d say that’s pretty great. Eric seems like a genuinely good guy, so hope it all works out for him.

Not really bothered about getting a fee for him but I hope this move happens and I hope he proves himself in Germany, getting back to the Dier we all (used) to love.
It'll be a great move for the lad.

Random but a great move for him.

Probably won't be a starter but will play more than here anyway.

Ten years here. If you look back through his career here you'll see a great servant to the club. Seemed a steal after his first few seasons where he only cost 5M. Had some great seasons first at CDM then CB. Had that odd injury that kept him out during the UCL run and really hasn't been the same since.

However, thought he had some really good runs of form in Mourinho's/Conte's tenures but had a few more niggling injuries and an aging/rebuilding squad around him. Never really complained and always just got to work despite the fanbase actively wanting him out.

Think this is the type of signing you'll see a Bayern club make. Adds some experience, will play the odd match here or there, and then close out others. Probably will win a trophy or two as well.

The fact we may recoup near what we paid for him with 6 months left on his deal and over 350 matches played for the club is an added bonus. Hope he gets some time there and thanks for eveything!

personally this would point to us close to an agreement for a CB too. Even though we haven’t used him it would be even more idiotic to get rid of him without a replacement.

As it stands, Bayern are well stocked with centre backs nd players who can deputise at CB. Last season Fulham fended off Bayern interest in Palinio (sic) who is a top notch DM. At that point Dier was allegedly also on their shortlist as a versatile defender / DM.
It could be that Eric’s versatility including Right Back where he made his Spurs debut, atracts the Bundesliga club to acquire his abilities.

When Genoa hear about this it’s over lol

Dier gets too much hate, he reminds me of Dawson, hopefully in time he’ll get the same love… provided this deal doesn’t fall through (why won’t you leave already)

Any Bayern interest must just be looking for a mate to keep Harry company. I know it’s a crap league over there, but come on…!
