If we do bring in a manager who wants us to play on the front foot and press with a high defensive line, there is simply no future for him at the club and surely has to be sold.

Who would be making him a good offer to join them right now? Even if we let him leave for free? Think it’s actually pretty likely he will be here next season and see out his contract.

I’m generally of the feeling that every single member of the squad has underperformed this season due to mismanagement and bad morale spreading through the squad.

This guy can sod off in the summer, though.

Dier great guy, but I think he falls apart some games and he invites pressure by causing problems at the back,

We need to sell Sanchez, and dier not sign the loanie.

Sell Jt, prob Rondon as he never players

I wonder if Emerson would make a good right CB? Tbh sell him as well

And buy a good experienced CB to learn from and 2 young CBS

We also have an awesome under 18 CB let’s start to plan to untergrate him

He would not be terrible to keep as a back-up - he can competently cover any of the CB positions. But, we need 1-2 new CBs, so that he is a back-up...

But, I could see a team like Everton, if they stay up, or Sheffield United (or the 3rd team to be promoted), or maybe a Leicester being interested.

Its funny - because I am not a huge fan of keeping Lenglet - but, if its a function of saving money to spend elsewhere, I thought he did a decent job today and could play that role next to Romero next season, if we can't get a CB over the line.

Lenglet is decent, hes probably the best passer and has a lovely left foot. His weakness is he's easily bullied and is quite slow. In a different system he could be good.

What did we pay for this guy? £4M? If we can get £10M for him I’d bite the buyers hand off. Time to move on

as for talk of the 3 year contract - please no. Would be the epitome of rewarding mediocrity (and that’s being generous!)

Nobody is paying 10m for him. We will have to loan him out and let him go for free. Or pay him off this year to go somewhere else

He gets bullied and is weak in the challenges we need better

that drop off was a tough one to take for sure like 2 roll royces to beaten ford fiestas

Annoying thing is the amount of windows that we've gone through and still not properly addressed a key area of the pitch....

Summer 2020 - Vertonghen left and sounded like Mourinho was keen on Skriniar but we ended up with Rodon.
Summer 2021 - Alderweirald left but Romero arrived but still no real replacement for Vertonghen.
Summer 2022 - Conte wanted at least one CB by the sounds of it but for whatever reason had to go what seems to be a stop gap in Lenglet.

So whole CB situation has rumbled on for what 5/6 windows. Now heading into another one, lets hope we see some progress.

All teams look back for stability amd leadership at times.

If you're looking back and seeing Dier and Lloris of the last 2 years, it cannot exude confidence and probably does worse.

For example, Kane and Son have played with them both for years, they are friends too, but they cannot feel confident with them behind them.

Thats why I think a DOF and coach that are aligned, with some assured defenders coming in, will give the team more confidence and may even convince Kane to stay.

Three things need to happen this summer, for there to be any optimism-
the right DoF/coaching appointments
Dier and Lloris out- Raya and Guehi (or similars in)
Integrate a new CAM because there's no link up play with the forwards

He has 1 year left on his contract, getting paid around £85k a week. I can't see anyone paying him those wages, let alone pay up.

We either keep him one more season or we do a Doherty, Aurier style deal and pay off the contract to free up the squad space.

We're not getting anything for him. Even worse, it looks like we might be extending the deal.

let’s hope Everton stay up as they are the only ones stupid enough to Chuck some money at us. He has Sean Dyche tough lad written all over him.

He’s part Of the current England squad. We will east get 10 mil for him.

Conor Coady only went on a loan last year to Everton, he was part of the same England squad.

Nobody will pay 10m for a near 30 year old underperforming defender with one year left on his deal. The market just won't be there because everybody knows he is not good enough.

Gone are the days where we can flog our shit to lower down the table.
