I liked the address and I liked what he said.

All commonsense, we are still in the middle of a pandemic we could still be playing to empty stadiums next season certainly not full ones.

Yes mistakes have been made which he clearly acknowledges.

Football like life is full of ups and downs, as a Spurs supporter for 45 years we know that more than most.

We have been incredibly unlucky with the timing of the pandemic and our stadium opening.

That isn't really a surprise as Levy himself said in the interview he like to do his business in private and not in the public arena.

He's been forced into a public "Q&A" because the amount of comment in the media and by fans has been greater than I can ever remember.

Wonder if Bill Kenwright at Everton gets the same abuse that Levy gets , Everton have tried spending to get to the top , employed a top manager in Ancelloti but have so far failed. Spurs have spent on players , the two most expensive Sanchez and N'dombele who have not exactly excelled in my opinion, lets hope Paratici has some good contacts in the scouting fraternity.

Yeah like most I'm disappointed in our achievements over the last 20yrs.... doing a stadium of that size and the cost involved is a major undertaking... I it went for Civid it would have been interesting to see the results.

Levy and Co f#cked up during the stadium build by not investing in the squad...based on manager needs or not. It can't be left to just he manager only.... I still look at Youri Tielemans and think what if...he only cost £ 20 million pounds.

Anyway those subjects have been done to death...here's to a new beginning let's see where the road ahead leads.

How can you possibly understand him? Isn't loading the club up on debt exactly what the Glazers have done which has been met with criticism by everyone?

Not only has Levy done the same thing to funnel all the fans money into his pocket but he openly talks about it like we should somehow be sympathetic to him.

LOL I never get this complaint.

A) The club has been loaded with debt to provide with an asset which will generate a massive amount of revenue for the foreseeable future. Nothing like the glaziers who are literally just taking money out the club.

B) please tell me any club in world football where the owners have just bought them a brand new stadium without loading any debt on the club?

Of course he was. I work in communications and PR and it’s a typical thing to ask your senior exec to do reputation management. Don’t know if it works in this case because fans just want to be outraged but there isn’t really much else the club can do from a comms point of view.

Agree..... there were defining moments in the Poch era where had we invested correctly in the squad it would be a different ball game now.
And this is what's so frustrating about it all. 2 seasons later and we're still paying the price for poor player recruitment over the Poch era. And it's not even close to being fixed.

Why are you so sure they'll invest the increased revenue in the squad once the debt is cleared?

I think we all think that but in truth we will never know - I think one of the strengths of that side was the togetherness like most good sides - and the truth of the matter looking back you would have needed to buy absolute top quality to improve it - the other part is that I think why one of the strengths of Pochie's sides was its togetherness and his loyalty to the players he did struggle a little bit to ingratiate new players young and old into the side

This is partly true. Poch talked often of longevity and integrating players slowly. I was in agreement with this philosophy at the time.

But it turned out to be incorrect and the lack of good signings throughout his time here has been disastrous.

Have to be honest I didn't really take in what he (or Paratici) said for obvious reasons, so I can't even remember what was said. Will watch again today at some point. All I know is it'll be twisted to suit whatever agenda you may or may not have. Believe him, don't believe him, but at least he actually put something out there. It's something he doesn't usually do after all.

I don't really get the accusation of him lying.

I think we'll be tightening the purse strings like other clubs and we'll be going back to buying younger players to develop. This is what I've been hoping for.

Paratici is experienced and appears to have good experience with youth spotting. Levy is under pressure and he knows it.

I saw the ”Chairman’s Update“ come up on FaceBook last night but thought I would leave it until this morning to view it. Of course, I couldn’t find it so Googled ‘Daniel Levy interview’.

I got all these links to Schitt’s Creek.

Actually, I do believe he does have the best interests of the club at heart, and does want to win stuff, but thinks he knows best and doesn’t take, or listen to, advice, e.g COVID Furlough grants, ESL, to quote two recent examples.

Is the general consensus that we do have money but ENIC are just not willing to spend, or are we actually skint?

If it’s the latter, then why? The stadium is financed through long-term deals, and Covid doesn’t seem to have affected our rival’s (and some clubs below us) spending…plus we’ve been run prudently for so many years so really we should be in a better position than most!
This is exactly why people can't understand about the skint bit a club always a small net spend every season along with a world record profit only a couple of seasons ago should not be in this situation.
