Think this is the most demoralising bit. Jose was the one Levy always wanted. Serial winner. Look at us now. Alienated fan base and players who don’t give a shit. There is nothing Levy can bring to the table now. How can anyone justifiable defend or believe in ENIC. Yet some still do. This is all on them.

And couldn't even bring himself to back him with the quality CB in Skriniar we desperately needed despite José being in Levy's own words "one of two elite football managers in the game" that he'd been chasing for years.

Now he's jumping on the 'all José's fault narrative' with the comment about attacking football. The problems are far deeper than the manager and style of football.

Clearly you’ve never read this thread.
Well most of BSoDL are saying that they aren't as bad as the rest are thinking, not that they are the best in the world.
Or it's not like someone who would buy is guaranteed to be be better than ENIC/someone would actually buy

Perspective required. It looks as though we are about to finish outside the top six for the first time in over a decade. Never before in our near 140 year history have we had such a run of consistently high finishes.

Sure, the current mess is all on ENIC. But, by the same token, the previous decade and more of progress was also on them. You can’t pick and choose what to attribute to them.

It has been a shit season by our recent high standards, certainly. And a major overhaul of both the first team squad and the player recruitment & analytics department is required.

But let’s not act as though we’ve just been relegated.

It’s been reported that Mourinho had been targeted by Levy for a very long time. So it could be that Poch was sacked at that point of time because Mourinho was available? ?‍♂️

Mourinho took over almost immediately after Poch was sacked, so levy might have been in discussions with Jose for a while before sacking Poch.

If Mourinho wasn’t available at that time, levy might have delayed sacking Poch until Mourinho or another suitable candidate was available. That’s just my guess anyway.
That's exactly how I read it at the time. It was an open secret that Levy and Mourinho were fans of each other and with Arsenal on the verge of sacking their manager, Levy knew it was either jump or lose the chance of getting Mourinho to Arsenal.

Agree and disagree. We can pick and choose because we can see the pros and cons. You're identifying the cons, and I agree with you, and we need to let ENIC know very clearly what they are as Spurs fans.

I know there is quite a bit of anti Levy/Enic sentiment in here but if we all truly believe that they are a company who is attempting to maximize the club's value, then consider how much they stand to lose if they "reach" for a coach and it fails again or let Harry go for a song. If they value the club at 2B? then another bad choice will wipe 100s of millions off the valuation. If they are the money grubbing owners some think they are, then it is likely that they will protect their investment. We're not talking chicken scratch (don't know if chicken scratch translates to the UK but it means a paltry some of money).

On the business side, there is something to admire. Eniic/Levy came up with a creative plan to play with the big boys without having the big boy money. They figured out how to create money that other clubs won't have access to whether it is an NFL game or concert, etc. And they even financed the stadium in a way that it wasn't and isn't a lodestone around the club's neck from a cashflow perspective.

Everything points to them wanting to play with the big boys. Compromising on the next manager hire would be a stupid business decision. Get it right and they might just keep Harry if they invest in players too. Above all, i believe Enic/Levy are good business people. They will attempt to protect their investment.

But be clear, I'm no BSoDL. There's good and bad with Enic/DL. What does need to happen is that Enic needs to have a diluted vote (if any at all) when it comes to footballing matters whether that is by giving more power to Hitchens or adding a DOF or some other mechanism. But I want them on the business side of the club as they have shown creativity and foresight there which has certainly increased our stature as a global brand which in part is what is required to have a sustainable financial model if you aren't a sheik or oligarch. While it might be contrary to others, I don't want oil or oligarch money if that is the only way to bring EPL championships. I'd like to think we're Tottenham. We're different. At least i hope we still are.

Tottenham Hotspur (ENIC) is a business first - football team second.

End of discussion
No one is denying that, but this season I have wondered for the first time

What do we prioritise success on the balance sheet via success and CL?
or
Prioritise success on the balance sheet via player value?

Would we prefer playing a player who is detrimental to our team just so we can recoup some value on investments over success in the league

Or

Play a player who is better in the first team but value is very low?

Dier for example, do we play him because he was valued once at £40m or do we play Rodon because he has been better?

If they were under any doubts about how toxic the atmosphere is then they got it tonight. While I don't agree with booing the people who did it had every right to.
Fans are taken for mugs, highest season ticket prices, our tickets tonight are more than double what most other fans have to pay, our own home grown world class striker wants to leave, sacked the best manager most fans have ever seen, we have a squad full of players that wouldn't look out of place in the 90's teams and we don't even have a fucking manager.

Congratulations ENIC / Levy you have alienated a fanbase by your own mismanagement.
Yep our owners have done a sterling job in a class of their own well done to them.
