Another very comfortable win for the Lionesses tonight and through this mini-tournament generally. Played 3, Won 3, GD +10

They’re an outstanding team full of humility, hard work and talent. And they are being coached by a monster of the game in Sarina. Seeing the latest WSL audience figures today, the momentum and excitement behind women’s football is ? in England and pockets of Europe, and long may it continue!

Another poor half from England tonight, although the Dutch have been good.

Feels like a long time since we’ve put together a decent performance, let alone a dominant one.

Hooefully improve in the second half but feels a bit of a mountain to climb.

Night and day performance in the second half.

Still not quite clicking but signs of hope.

Can someone explain to me how England scoring a 4th tonight would have meant all they needed to do was beat Scotland?

Because that's what was summarised after the game but Netherlands GD is +4 and England's +1 . Confused

Is it to do with head to head having priority over overall goal difference? As it stands England and Netherland both beat each other once, and by a single goal each time, so head to head they are both +3 points and level on GD. If England had won 4-2 tonight they'd have beaten Netherlands H2H on GD and so only needed any win over Scotland to finish above them in the table.

Instead as H2H is level, it goes to overall GD, which now has Netherlands ahead (+4 to +1), so England need to better Netherlands result in the last game, or if both win England must beat Scotland by four goals more than Netherlands beat Belgium.

I think.

Maybe.

Ha good effort tbf mate . That's actually the only logical explanation I can think of.

I thought there was a real lack of clarity from 5 live , ITV and sky tonight regarding the permutations.

Just reading a piece elsewhere, and hadn't realised the implications. Team GB's qualification for the Olympic Games women's football rests on England giving Scotland an absolute pasting in the final game, as Team GB qualify as a result of England's final position. But Scotland's players participation in the Olympics as part of Team GB also rely on them being beaten heavily by England.

I'm sure, professionally, nobody is considering a stitch-up. It would be unconscionable - but it's not exactly ideal given that a heavy England win is not out of the question in any case.

Decent performance by England tonight but not enough to overcome a fairly poor overall campaign.

No team GB at the olympics.
