And while we're at it, here's the thread for centre-backs. This time 10 please (as there are generally two of them) in order of preference.
Does anyone else agree, that one tackle on ramsey seems to stained Shawcross's career
1) Joleon Lescott
2) Gary Cahill
3) Rio Ferdinand
4) Phil Jagielka
5) Steven Caulker
6) Chris Smalling
7) Phil Jones
8) John Terry
9) Michael Dawson
10) Steven Taylor
.
Don't agree with your analysis on Lescott, Cahill and Jags as I think they are very, very good. But otherwise, that's about my list. Probably swap Caulks and Smalling, then Shawcross 9 and possibly Tomkins just ahead of Dawson in 10. Yes, really.

Not sure of the logic on Tomkins. Dawson has not played that much in the last year or so, and consequently difficult to rate in some respects but arguably was a more effective John Terry like CB than John Terry at defending. Tomkins has looked good in a pretty naff West Ham Championship defence, and so outside the top 10 CB's (thank god).
