Which is why several, including yours truly, suggested brilliantly, to only offer him a bonus-heavy contract.
At his best, he is unplayable. At his worst, he's a passenger. If you could guarantee a way of making him give you his best 70%ish of the time, well worth it. If Harry can't, after practically fondling his balls the entire season then, not worth breaking the wage structure for.
My main concern is the detrimental affect it could have on our other star players who will almost certainly want parity, which if Adebayor continues to turn in performances for, say 1 in 3, this will only further compound matters.
I can't knock what he has brought us this season and his stats are still fairly impressive but I think we have over exaggerated his effect on the side by virtue of being served up such relatively poor strikers in recent years.
