Doesn't matter if he's past his best. It's a no brainer really. He will give us exposure and attention all over the world and he wouldn't even need to kick a ball. I like Beckham. Think he's a top bloke.
Perfect back up for Lennon. Bentley isn't offering an alternative and we don't need one.

I really hope not. If we want to sell more shirts in Asia, let's just go and buy the best asian footballer we can. Not this oxygen sucking media pit pony.

come on girls theres no need for that! if he does come and never kicks a ball that would be benifical in my eyes! He's a top fella, train's as hard as anyone out there, has experiance, massive profile, we cant go wrong!

This.

This is a man who has spearheaded an Olympic bid and a World Cup bid. This is a man who, but for injury, would have played in four world cups. This is a man who appears on every billboard and every magazine there is going. This is the former England captain. You simply can't buy that sort of publicity. He is the most famous footballer in the world and that alone would raise our profile even further at a time we are on an upward spiral. It's only for two months so, more importantly, players that might otherwise not take notice of us might suddenly be interested.

Football wise not really sure that we would ned him - certainly hope any games played are few

Commercially a really good deal, should be a money earner if thats what we want

I think he suits the Huddlestone role in the team perfectly while Tom gets back fit so for me get him in!

Is it just me or do we not really need Beckham? Lennon's just coming into good form, would Beckham be happy to play a bit part sub-appearances role for us?

Shame we couldn't just bring him on to take corners and free kicks!

Like i just said in the other thread. There are manily bonuses he can bring whether financial or status wise. His experience alone in winning things and playing with some of the best palyers in the wrold would be invaluable. But he was also England captain and a very good one. I think just for his leadership alone we should get him in to be honest.

I wouldn't be opposed to it, as long as he doesn't expect to play every game.

I think if it can be anything like the Gudjohnsen signing, I wouldn't mind it at all.

Gudjohsen had a small contribution to some of our success last year, even if it was just mainly that goal at Stoke :) But still, every little helps.

For 2 months only could be the frustration mind.

Where are we with our 25 man squad? Can we afford to use a space on a guy for two months?

Sorry, I checked out the spreadsheet in Spurs Chat. We are at 25, so we have to get rid of someone just to add a short loan. No. I know we have a few players that need to be culled, but they need to be for players that aren't here for such a short period. We get rid of Bentley for Becks and what are we going to do in March if we have massive injuries (which is the norm for us)? Play Hutton as RW? No thanks

I'm worried about this as well; particularly when it seems that we're getting more than our fair share of injuries for whatever reason.

Harry had to correct himself earlier from a slip of the tongue, as it were :

"He'd have to fight for his place, he's not going to play every game, he knows -- he'd know -- that," said Redknapp, correcting himself.

"(But) he'd be a good influence, he's the type of lad that would be good at your club. He'd give the place a lift. You need people like that around you. He has been a fantastic player and is someone the players would look up to and respect. He could still do a job, for sure, if he is over his injuries and he is as fit as he thinks he is."

Personally, I cannot see this as being a 2 month thing. Redknapp mentioned that Beckham would come to the club and not for money.

I reckon this an 18 month deal with AEG involved. Just my feeling as it would be daft to bring him in for 2 months.

What makes you think AEG are involved in the deal?
