He was quality at Sunderland and good under AVB. Missed a chunk injured and came back in poor form under Sherwood, who just told him to bomb on with no defensive cover from midfield. The abuse he got was a disgrace.

People did exactly the same with Walker.

Still, no excuse for Rose to come out with this shit.

Yeah, no more lower league crap like Rose, Walker or Dele that'll never be good enough for us anyway. We need proven top-level talent like Moussa Sissoko and Roberto Soldado. Players you don't have to Google.

Thank fuck Rose isn't in charge of our transfer strategy.

I get your point - but we are supposed to be competing for the title and lack first team options. Walker and Rose took 5-6 years to get to the right level, we need improvements or competition today. Also, we have actually signed noone.

I reckon we should offer Rose to Real Madrid in a Bale exchange. Marcelo future replacement?
Would be funny if we used the Walker and Rose money to bring Bale back and we upped our pay structure for everyone as a result.. and consequently won the PL!! :woot:

Rose has clearly decided he is more important than the club, just as Walker did and to some extent that's fair enough, but to do it publicly is calculated and unfair on his teammates and Poch - he could have simply handed in a transfer request instead.

We haven't heard the last of this but if it turns out this is what happens that is proper ****ish. And for the record, I had nothing bad to say when he signed the new contract. That abuse was just Twitter being Twitter. I bet graphics could have been made about the positive things being said about him signing so if any of this shit today is being blamed on that abuse he needs to get a bit of perspective.

I can see both sides of it, though that's not to say I'm in Rose's corner. It's easy for us to all demand loyalty off him, but we as a fan base (though not every individual fan) slated him in the past - something he remembers.

“The stick I received was very unfair and I was very unhappy after that season (2013-14). This is the first time I have had a manager who has taken time to show me what I need to do better. That is why I have come on in leaps and bounds."

Then you have to consider that there are plenty of footballers of lesser ability playing for worse clubs who are on more than him. That and he's just seen one of his best mates who's of a similar ability to himself go off and double his earnings.

However...

He's spent half of last season injured and hasn't played enough since his last contract to merit increasing his earnings. It's all very well him trying to claim that he's not telling Levy how to run the club but he's the one who's giving the exclusive and saying things which do not need to be said in public. It's refreshing for footballers to actually be honest, but this just doesn't benefit the club at all and I'm sure Poch, Levy and even his colleagues will be pretty unhappy with him. You can see why we only tend to receive over censored soundbites from players in the media.

The crucial thing is are his feelings isolated or is he just the ony one with balls to voice a general mood of the squad?

I doubt that he is on his own unfortunately.

Of course they are. Will sell more papers. Gets more clicks.
would be naive to think they wouldnt be
why should Kane be happy about getting half of lukaku and ageuro
why should toby be pleased about getting half of lovren and alli half of lingard

Additionally, how easy can it spread? I fully believe there are very devoted stars at Spurs these days, too. But, Walker, Rose ... How swiftly will such sentiments spread? For instance Dier? Is he maybe receptive to a less than a party line view? How many listens with half an ear and maybe sees grains of truth?

I'm guessing most of the posters have a Twitter account. Some footballers are dicks, some football fans are dicks, some people are dicks. But he's grasping at excuses here based on this.

If he thinks this is what Spurs fans are like then guess what Danny Boy, City, United and, your other dream move north, Chelsea, all have fans that can be complete dicks. If you want unadulterated support join One Direction.

The guy I got the ITK from who had spoken to Rose personally a few weeks back said 4-5 of the team feel unhappy

Yeah he's completely overlooking the fact that Spurs fans hero worship him now... prior to this interview anyway. Fool.

And also the fact that there were plenty of fans who didn't hurl abuse at him when he was mediocre. Stupid lumping all fans in the same bracket.

Jesus, what fucking timing to drop this bombshell eh?!

I think we always knew his heart belonged up North and I can understand his rationale to a degree but this has really put the cat amongst the pigeons in the most public way possible.

Our PR team and Poch need to get a grip of this situation and stop it escalating or it's going to get nasty...

He should be reading Spurs Community, not Twatter. SC has been a very pro-Rose community since 2014. I guess it doesn't fit his narrative of under-paid, under-appreciated, under-played.

I'll just leave these here from The Goat from earlier this summer that all of you bashed to no end. Hmmm. Guess what's looking spot on, folks!
The Goat hears (not for the first time) that there is unrest at Levy's tactics when it comes to contracts and signings, frustration from players, agents and others involved in transfers/contracts in and out. Sessegnon and his connections are losing patience as is Edwards and two or three first team players are interesting the Manchester clubs along with one other top (european) club. However it’d take an excessive bid for us to sell. These players do not include Kane or Alli. The Goat assumes these are Dier and Walker.

The Goat also hears that our wages policy is starting to bite and one or two aren’t convinced at our ambition…… it would be no great surprise to see a number of players leave over the next year or two and although Rose fancies a move is prepared to give it another year but Toby wants a get out clause in any new deal. As was the case last year, Pochettino wants new players in before the 2nd week of pre-season.

Whilst Pochettino understands that we can't sign big stars, he's getting increasingly frustrated that targets agreed to are not being delivered, despite these players being entirely affordable, within our range and agreeing to come.

He's not getting his choices with some regularity and things aren't at all well between him and the bald man who offers up signings that Poch just doesn't want. He'll continue to say the right things for now but unless things change soon, at some point we'll start to see stories appearing in the media. The Goat's source guesses we might get another season from him at best unless things dramatically improve.

The players don't see the new ground as the be all and end all, they want to see ambition to go along with it and as for the wages thing, this isn't player greed, its promises being made and then broken. A number of players are only still here because of Pochettino and if he goes this could all turn very quickly into a nightmare for the man at the top with the majority of our top names leaving.........unless he (once again) makes moves to fix things. He has a VERY accomplished PR or 'spin' department.

On the good news front, a fee for Barkley has been agreed for some while at 20m but soured by last minute changes to deal structure instigated by the man at the top, so it may or may not happen.......and this isn't the first time, there's a long list of deals that never came off due to these last minute attempts to squeeze a bit out of a deal......... Lemar, Batshuayi, Berahino and going further back even Willian etc etc......The Goat hears that the failure to sign these players is down to one man.
