As much as Sissoko was brilliant last season, if we want to start consistently controlling games in midfield then I don't think he should be a guaranteed starter. His passing came on leaps and bounds and his bursts forward were great, but he's still quite erratic in possession and unimaginative on the ball. He'll start plenty of games, but there will also be plenty of matches better suited to other midfield combinations.
I agree in essence, but he became fantastic at the role he was given. He won the ball back and moved it, he drove forward, he even began to pick out some excellent passes.

He may not be the most incisive passer in the world, but he was performing at a very high level. He will play a significant role again this season.

I actually see us starting the season with Sissoko and Winks in midfield. NDombele needs time to adapt to the pace of the PL.

Anyone would think we had already signed up what we need. In reality we have so far only signed 1 player who is technically dembele replacement. I for 1 am not jumping the gun. Seen too many false dawns

Just this, it’s a tentative link at best too. They really are a spoilt bunch of knobs, my brother supports them lot, and thinks the world are against them. Moaning about Chelsea getting kovacic etc..... didn’t like it when I explained it wa agreed LAST window before the ban!

I think it’s a fair attempt at replacing Eriksen yes. But as much as Lo Celso and Ceballos are highly rated, we’re losing a player who has been immense for us, regardless of how his last few months have went.

The two Spaniards could very easily flop when arriving and many people think they’re instantly gonna hit the ground running. It may not be the case.

I'm not doubting how good eriksen is, but given the position we are in, whereby he wants to leave and only to two clubs in particular, I think getting those two players in particular is perhaps as good a deal as we can probably get.

If it means we get both Lo Celso and Ceballos from Eriksen going to Madrid then I think it's a good deal for us.
But Eriksen is like you and Madrid is that heavenly body who you made eye contact with on the tube... Nowhere near as into you as you are into them

Also, Herc has said unambiguously and multiple times, GLC is not an Eriksen replacement

Although we might try, It seems completely unrealistic to add both Lo Celso and Ndombele and manage to keep Eriksen, at least in my opinion, obviously it'd be fantastic, so whether he's a like for like not is up for debate but players in and out wise it might be the likely scenario.

When I said getting in lo celso and Ceballos in for eriksen I meant from a creativity point of view. It is clear we needed more creativity in the squad so getting two players in for one I feel will benefit the squad.

I realise both lack prem experience and at the moment aren't as good as eriksen, but they're both young and will only get better. Plus how often do a team sell a player with the quality of eriksen and the direct replacement is just as good? Not that often.

What pace? Most teams out of the top 6 set up for a draw against us.

Pretty sure Wolves, Everton, West Ham, Leicester and Bournemouth don’t set up to defend the whole game against us and sneak a draw. They come out to play.

The PL is the most competitive league in Europe. Bottom can beat top on any weekend. It ain’t 1995 PL anymore.

He isn’t a nailed starter. If we bring in Lo Celso and/or Ceballos, one of Winks and Sissoko, possibly even both are going to miss out.

NDombele, Ceballos, Lo Celso, Alli, Son/Moura, Kane

He’ll either be a rotational player or play alongside NDombele when we need more steel in the middle.

Winks and Ndombele are better than him as central midfielders. Just because I don't see him as a member of our best XI, it doesn't mean I don't appreciate him or don't see him as a valuable squad member.

The links from Spain have been so strong but I can’t help but think that it’s a sweetener for eriksen.
I am sure Spurs fans over estimate Eriksen's value and stock in Europe. I don't think he is rated or wanted as a lot of you think

That may be the case but he has not done it for us yet in the EPL which is more competitive to what he is use to. At least Sissoko has proved himself in the EPL. (Not saying that Ndombele wont be a starter)

Fair enough. Should have had some patience then, seeing as now Eriksen wants out.
I’m still not fully convinced Maddison is good enough to be a starter for a team with our aspirations. A very, very good player for a team like Leicester to build a team around, but I feel like that’s his level.

Agreed.

How many teams set up against Leicester as they do against us?
