JJ hasn't poo poo'd so i'm guessing there is interest. Although maybe it is dependent on Eriksen leaving.

I dont think the club see him as a replacement for CE due to his lack of goals. So whilst he may be part of a deal involving CE, although thats not certain, GLC would be the CE replacement....

I think that Eriksen is not replaceable by a single player unless we were willing to spend 90-120 mill on the likes of Havertz but I think signing Lo Celso and Ceballos does replace the attributes Eriksen brings whilst also adding new ones.

I think he could be a real key signing and I really want this to happen. A star in the making that gives us more direct passing and creativity.

------------------------------Winks (Dier)------------------------
-----------NDombele (Sissoko)---Ceballos------------------

What a midfield that would be.
Form a front three out of Kane, Lo Celso/Eriksen, Dele, Son, Lucas, Ryan Sessegnon and maybe Lamela and we finally would have some great depth in the offensive department. Make it happen Dan.

Someone has put him down as a Tottenham player on his wikipedia page. Confirmation it's done, lads.

If we get Ceballos and Lo Celso in without Eriksen going out (Madrid sources still indicating they are uninterested), then it will be a sign of how much Pochettino hated last year’s midfield situation.

Might be a sign we're playing football manager too

I do wonder at this point if we are more keen for Madrid to buy Eriksen than they are!

Taking into account Herc and Vals posts in here, I'm pretty sure Hercs post in the ITK thread is in relation to Ceballos.

Deal could be done separately as (1) Ceballos more of a creative CM depth upgrade than an Eriksen replacement (GLC) plus (2) the fact the player prefers a loan (hopefully with a buy option).

Levy prefers the part-ex as the players future would be settled this summer, and we have more cash to play with.

Will be much more comfortable with the coming season if we get this guy and GLC over the line

If that really is the case, then I think the idea of him signing a new contract if he doesn't get his dream move must have been quashed by him and his agents, with the situation of him hanging around until he leaves on a free a very real one. It would make sense.

It's a real shitter of a situation for us, but we'd just have to get out of it the best we can. I'm not one of those who looks at Eriksen's performances last season, highlights his weaknesses and is quite happy to see him go. Best situation for me is he signs a contract, we get Los Celso or another similar player and away we go, but I can't see it.

Hiowever, the club cannot afford both Toby and Eriksen to run their contracts down together.

Totally agree with you, I'd rather keep him and add one of Ceballos or Lo Celso. There comes a point where we have to make a decision either way however, and the longer it drags on without him signing the worse position the club is in.

It's in both Eriksen and Spurs' best interests to try and resolve this early, this issue is the opposite applies to Madrid!

It’s just a shame we couldn’t use Real’s Eriksen interest to get Bale on loan.

What slightly concerns me is these these players look talented, but there is no guarantee they are going to be a good fit for the PL.

Ndombele is a bit different. He’ll have to adjust, but it’s plain to see he’s built for the PL.

I think Lo Celso looks like he has what it takes physically and the way in which he plays, Ceballos and the likes of Fernandes carry a much larger risk though

Lo Celso looks pretty scrappy to me, Lamela like. Ceballos is a bit more slight but no more so than Bernardo and David Silva. From watching clips of Lo Celso and Ceballos there do seem certain similarities. Happy to take the ball under pressure, can both dribble and make vertical passes. Not afraid to put a foot in.

Having watched them and Ndombele clips there does seem to be a similar Poch-DNA that runs through them all, even if they have different strengths.

I think I wrote something gushing about Ceballos 2 or 3 years ago. I haven't seen much of him since but i'd very much like to see what Poch can do to develop his undoubted potential.

I still think it's mental that before Ndombele the last non-defensive CM we signed was Dembele. Since then it's been a string of academy kids like Winks, Mason, Bentaleb, Carroll, Livermore and Skipp.

Credit to the academy, but we've been due a top quality CM signing since the AVB days and 2 or 3 this summer would be very well overdue.
