Get the first goal and we will be ok. Feels like it’s one of those days where we need a lucky goal.

Because Trippier will play against Juve and the rotations are set up to make that happen?
That’s not for 2 weeks. Play trippier today, aurier against Rochdale and the trippier again for Huddersfield and Juve.....he is an athlete, if I can play footy twice a week then he should be able to

Aurier aside I don't think this is an issue with the individual players selected.

It's just too fucking casual everywhere. Missing sitters, being half asleep, misplacing easy passes, not even taking a fucking throw in properly.

Could be 3 up really without playing well.
We'll sharpen up in the second no doubt

carragher is so blinkered by Liverpool bias it's actually unfathomable how he's a pundit.

Yeah I'm not sure you cover 12+ kms running up and down the touchline when you play. The fullbacks have always had the most physically demanding roles in Pochettino's teams. It's prudent to rotate them to avoid having them play two in a row.

When you swap Son for Lamela, Lamela doesn't offer a genuine goal threat its just like having another attacking midfielder trying to link up play he doesn't try to get into the box. Son or lucas need to come on we need real pace a real direct threat.
There isn't the space for Son to operate in though. Lamela is usually better at unpicking the lock in these kind of games.

I'd consider him later for sure but as i've said the attitude of the whole team is the problem.

Davies having a recurrence of his agoraphobia
See a space, pass backwards away from it.
Scrappy stuff.Crossing poor.
Dembele been reading too many of his own recent reviews.

Cannot believe that foul on Davies wasn’t a penalty. A blatant, stonewall penalty. Incompetent referee of the highest order.
Or just plain cheating.

Forget the referee. Yes we should have had that penalty on Davies but we didn't so we have to carry on and play to our best and unfortunately we've fallen well short of that. Is one of those games where it's like we've just wasted a whole 45 minutes and I can only hope we can score relatively early in the second half.
