Poch is gonna be gone from there before the end of the season isn’t he.

I’ll be amazed if it gets that far. He obviously likes Gallagher too and if he is sold from underneath him he won’t be happy. Although the principles he apparently used to have seem to have vanished since he left us so maybe he will just suck it up.

I think Poch is playing the game. Surely he knows whats going on. I doubt he will be keen to see CG go, he's used him in most the games so far

He looks pretty pissed off there though and a little surprised. Reminded me of the “maybe my title needs to change” press conference.

I really don’t miss his moody pressers

Haven't seen much of him but he was one of my favorite players for Premiership fantasy when he was at Palace, very good goalscoring record for a midfielder. Gibbs-White (would cost a lot) and Gallagher seem to be one of the few gettable HG midfielders that are almost certain not to flop. He would definitely score goals here and Maddison would create plenty of chances for him. Poch would probably want to keep him but rich clubs need space for shiny new toys, Lavia and Caicedo will have to start most games.

Feels like this one will be down to Connor. Chelsea seem pretty happy to cut down their squad and It feels like a deal will be fairly easy to come too. He is Chelsea through and through, Poch seems to really like him and I believe he captained the side midweek. I can’t imagine he really wants to leave. Guess it comes down to the club and Ange selling us to him.

God yes, Poch's pressers were awful. I remember how relatively pleased we were with Jose coming in, his pressers full of charisma and not talking in riddles. For all the wonderful play on the field Poch's engagement through the press was terrible.

Back to CG, even if Poch doesn't have full visibility on transfers I doubt he will let Gallagher be sold without airing his objections. Gallagher played every game so far and was made captain for this week's cup game.

As much as I think CG would be ideal for Ange's system, I can't see Chelsea agreeing to sell him for anything close to a reasonable fee. Some reports are estimating 50M, but when they just paid 115M for Caicedo is CG less than half the value for a HG young established PL player?

can see why Ange would want him, ideal for one the 8 roles, breaking into the box - but for that money, think I would prefer to see one of our youngsters get game time...he was good at palace tbf..

Ange has obviously seen something he likes and that will do for me. Seems a lot of money to me (and Johnson) but we have to pay Fortnum & Mason price to recruit and get Walthamstow Market prices when we sell. Seems to be the way of the world right now.

Yeah it's the Palace role we'll be playing him in. Might also be able to to do the 6 role in a pinch.

In this system I could see him picking up 10 goals, so that's key

Really rate this lad. Always have. He was great for Palace and seems Poch likes him too. Not sure I can see it happening but would definitely be pleased if it did. Thanks for the updates WLB.

I try not to stress the fee too much. Not because of the “it’s not my money” line but the fees are nuts. Gravenberch joins Bayern for €18m, seemingly joining Liverpool for €40m without playing or developing.

Gallagher, whilst I’m super dubious, would be great in the role he filled at Palace and I genuinely believe Ange could get that level out of him in our system.

No belief this comes to fruition mind.

It's easy to forget how good he was for Palace that season. Had we gone in for him off the back of that we would've been praising his signing as exactly the sort of dynamism our midfield needed.

I just worry about how such an underwhelming year back at Chelsea has affected his development. And I still have serious doubts that they'd sell to us.

Even with all the best intentions today , we're going to get stung by the lack of time
