Hopefully weve done our homework and sussed out if theres an expiry date on that.
It’s the Spanish league, every player is required to have a release clause in their contract. There is no expiration date. The only chance it would increase is if he signed a new contract with increased clause.

POK saying Gallagher and Veiga the ones we like and will probably move for it PEH leaves.

He's saying Veiga allegedly has a €40m release clause

I realy like Veiga but he will be one that falls into the "can he cut in the PL" quota. Another like Gil or Lo Celso IMO. That's not downplaying the talent of those two either, they're good players - they just seem like they never adjusted as we wanted to.

That's the one benefit with Gallagher to me. He may not be the most silky player, but he will run through a brick wall for you, has that bite, aggression, and it seems like Ange loves those type of players.

They must really be desperate for the FFP space if that's what they're after. Not sure who they think is going to come in at that price.
Yeah, 50M is a non-starter so they may not be desperate at all because it's hard to see anyone coming in at the price point. You'd think this summer's price for him would be around 30M, which is still a bit rich but compares more reasonably with the fees Maddison, Barnes, MacAllister, Kovacic, Kulusevski etc have moved for. But they got 55M for Mount and 65M for Havertz, so they've been getting some premium prices this summer already.

I reckon this would be a good move if Hojbjerg moved away. I think Gallagher knows how to play 433 well and could be an asset.

I agree. Veiga looks to be a good goalscorer, but not exactly great in possession in his limited career so far.

I get the thinking re Gallagher as he is great at pressing, but if we sell PEH (and maybe think about keeping Lo Celso) I would rather we move for a rotation option for Bissouma in the “6” role.

£50m is mental

Would rather we keep Lo Celso and spend that on Tapsoba

I don't think it's that crazy. He's English, he's young (resale), and he has got talent.

If JWP is 25, I'd prefer that though. Very underrated player, who isn't just a free kick merchant.

I don’t really see that re Veiga tbh. He is a hard worker who is not afraid to get stuck in and be physical. Yes he’s only 21 and his body is still developing but having seen him I don’t personally see much of a comparison to Gil say who very clearly needs to bulk up regardless which league he plays in. If anything every time I’ve watched Viega, and I’ve seen him a number of times, I’ve always thought he would suit the PL. What aspect of his style of play makes you concerned in this regard? Or are you just making a general point in regards to any player playing outside of the PL adapting?

Really odd situation, feels like Poch wants to keep him but they also need to dig themselves out of FFP whilst also trying to get Caicedo for 100 mil. Ether way spending 50 mil on him would be crazy, I don’t even see us matching WH’s offer. I would be pretty disappointed if we spent that on him yet didn’t have the money for VDV and Tapsoba.

Gallagher is perfect for an Ange team. Look how much Skipp was getting tin the box against West Ham. Now replace Skipp with Gallagher. It looks like the asking price is steep, and not helped by West ham being West ham with the Rice money, but i hope we do the deal for Ange. Gallagher's numbers in the defensive and final thirds are decent.

I probably shouldn't have mentioned Gil's name, as I don't see the two like for like. When I've watched him I actually see him in GLC type mould, despite being a bit bigger. Really good eye for that last line breaking pass, chips in with goals, etc. I've seen him make some tackles and be able to fill the Ange 8 role for sure.

It's probably just a recent history of us not having great success with attacking players from la liga. There's no doubt he's his own player and would give him time if he came. I would also be excited if he were to come, esp since he's only 21.

If you're excited for him too, that certainly helps!

I want him

But don't think it's him or Veiga either

Will be someone cheaper and underwhelming like Kessie

This deal is probably lower down the priority list compared to CB incomings, Harry Kane and possible replacement, and also outgoings.
