We probably need an AM least of all the positions we have to fill but Gallagher would be a great signing. Currently we have Skipp and Sarr fighting for the RCM job. While Sarr is excellent, he's young and will need rest and I'm a big fan of Skipp but see him as Yves' understudy as the 6 though he's done ok as an 8.

His reel from Crystal Palace just looks like an audition for the role in this Spurs side. All action, very progressive, happy to switch play and happy to carry it, loves to get in the box, loves to tackle.

Not sure he's going to be AM, wouldn't be surprised if Ange fancies him in either Sarr's or Bissouma's role.

He wants him 6 to be able to receive the ball in difficult positions and he likes his 8 to have an eye for goal. He'd be great in either position.

Midfield is sooo important for our system, I would like this to happen. He's a very good player and would shine here. Shine like a burning sun inside a larger burning sun.

Genuine question, is he? Have just moved back to the UK from abroad. Saw a little of him at Palace (great) and at Chelsea (meh). Realize this is probably answered elsewhere in the thread but didn’t see it in a skim.

I know he has a good engine. How would people describe him/compare him? Is he two-footed? Decent passer?

Yeah he's really good. He was dynamite for Palace, an all action box to box midfielder, lots of energy and great at pressing and breaking up play. He's right footed but yes he can pass and get forward. Has been OK at Chelsea but hard to judge anyone there atm.

Crucially, like Bissouma, he can carry the all forward after dispossessing the opponent, which is crucial for Ange.

This will sound unfair, but he's basically what we want Skipp to be.

Yeah I think too much has to fall into place for us to get this one done.

Can't see it happening.

Tottenham make bid £40m for Chelsea's Conor Gallagher... but the Blues are holding out for £45m as Ange Postecoglou aims to land the midfielder on deadline day

  • Tottenham have made contact with Chelsea over a move for Conor Gallagher
  • Transfer news LIVE - All the latest on Deadline Day of the summer window
Tottenham made a verbal offer of up to £40million including add-ons for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.

The bid is £5m short of Chelsea's valuation of £45m for the 23-year-old.

As Mail Sport reported yesterday, the England international is weighing up his future after Chelsea brought in Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia for their midfield.

Gallagher captained Chelsea against AFC Wimbledon and would prefer to stay if he continues to get regular game time but is realistic about his opportunities.

Despite the influx of talent at the Blues this summer, Mauricio Pochettino has started the academy graduate in all three of the club's Premier League fixtures so far this season.
