Just to make it clear. Even if my life DEPENDED on it, I still would not have the jab.

And irrespective as to what the government has or has not said.

My family decided to accept the jab. Their fucking choice.
Wow. You'd rather die than adjust your morals. I'm genuinely staggered at that stance.

Thankfully then, whether or not you go to a football match pales into insignificance so you can probably stop moaning about it.

If you're willing to literally die (you're clearly not but you claim you are) then you can cope with missing some matches. Watch us get thrashed by Man City from your armchair instead.

As for everyone else, I think you'll find very little patience on here for anyone spouting anti-vax bullshit. And don't dare mention the word "research" unless you have a PhD.

Well let's just hope you don't make one of them seriously ill then hey.

Plus you then get:

The vaccination hasn't been tested enough. Except on 167 poor, innocent, mice and monkeys. Why the fuck they have been test subjects is TOTALLY beyond my comprehension.

With minimal human test subjects.
Carry on trusting who you like dude - makes no difference to me. Just be savvy enough to do your research first.
I only need to see the URLs to know these aren't reputable sources with the necessary expertise to comment on it. Doing research requires verifying the information and giving it critical review - not simply Googling random articles that support your views and then regurgitating them. Confirmation bias doesn't benefit anyone...

All vaccines used in the UK have been thoroughly tested. No medication or vaccine is approved for use in the UK without first going through pre-clinical trials (using animals) and then three stages of clinical trials (using humans). Anyone publishing articles claiming the vaccine wasn't tested on humans before being approved for use is either very dishonest or very mistaken.

The people who volunteered for the clinical trials were probably at greater risk than they would have been if the three stages had been staggered over a longer period of time (rather than overlapped to speed things up), but this has no impact on the risks to the public now that all three stages are complete and the vaccine has been approved.

So I guess if @Dean is right then @Trix , between providing top quality ITK, also runs the Deep State. I must say I thought our Illuminati Overlords would consist of more than 15 blokes, a couple of which should be putting their feet up and spending their days on the golf course. Though it would explain why our summer transfer targets seem to be open to signing with us. Guess the microchips in the vaccine have some Tottenham Trojan Horse coded into them. Any chance we can do a vaccine push in the Back Up striker community?

Just stating my own beliefs on an open forum right?

Oh, and you don't know me. Or anything about the past sacrifices I've made due to my life choices.

As I say, I'll just stick to reading the football chat from now on.

But in the flipside, it's not illegal to not have the jab.
Stunning command of the obvious.

Not sure what is the point being made. @Trix's employee made a legal choice not to get vaccinated and then made another choice to tell their workmates and boss. @Trix then made a legal choice to use that as a basis for staffing decisions.

You make your choices and you take your consequences.

He also thinks that you can catch HIV in the same way you can catch COVID-19. I think it's safe to file anything he says straight in the bin

It was an extreme example to show the idiocy , and absurdity of marginalising people on a hypothetical threat.
But thanks for proving my point how quickly it is for people to be sheep and jump to the wrong conclusion ?

See, as a scientist this really annoys me. Is it your belief? Or is it science? You're claiming there's science behind it. That means evidence, experiments, hypotheses and ultimately proof. It's not a "belief".

In case it's still in doubt after what I posted, there is no such thing as "free speech" on here. You can post what you want but also accept the consequences of what you post.

We don't intend to put up with (nor endlessly debate) all the anti-vax bullshit. At best it's frustrating, at worst, allowing that rubbish to propagate is harmful.

For what it's worth, the article you linked to has yet to provide any evidence - https://fullfact.org/online/conservative-woman-vaccine-scientist-spike-protein/

No. You posted a load of homophobic, ignorant shit and got called out on it. The only point you proved was that anti-vaxxers tend to be a bit dim.

Maybe it would make more sense to us if you could cite the Berenstein Bears book you took this lesson from.

He asked for backup to a quote. That's all that was.

Not my reasons for not having the jab (for the 25th time)

For the people not wanting this vaccine can I just ask what your view is on other vaccines such as flu jab etc? Im assuming you haven't had any of these too for the same reasons?
You assume correctly. At my age and health I don’t regard the common flu as a life threatening event. I don’t get flu shots and I get the flu about once every 5 years, I’m not very productive for a day or two and then I go on with my life.

Similarly, a virus where 99% of the infected do not require hospitalization is not something I worry about too much. I ended up getting it this winter and had very mild symptoms thankfully. I do not begrudge anyone who chooses to get jabbed. I believe you have to consider your own health situation and make the best decision for yourself. I also don’t appreciate the sanctimony from those who would say I’m murdering people by not getting the vaccine. It is established you can still spread the virus if you are vaccinated.

What I find wholly amusing about conspiracy nut jobs and anti-vaxxers is that all of their beliefs and theories can largely be debunked and ridiculed by common logic.

Is admitting that you'd rather die than accept that you're wrong supposed to make the lies you're spreading more believable? o_O

I am a small employer 12 people permanent and three currently on a temp basis. 2 of those are part time and are past retirement age and are experts at what they do. Another has very bad asthma and other illnesses I won't go into. I have to do everything possible to keep them as safe as possible, and all the science says you are far less likely to catch and infect if you are jabbed.

Do I care about individuals freedoms etc? Yes but nowhere near as much as I care about the well being of the majority.
It is very valuable to have an example of real-world decisions and consequences in this thread, as opposed to the posturing about "liberty".

In this case, we have tough decisions being made easy by one person being an arrogant, selfish idiot. In other cases, the same decisions might not be so easy.

On a related point:

"2 of those are part time and are past retirement age and are experts at what they do."

I have a dog in this fight, because that description could be of me and my work. And I'm CEV as well. Fortunately, I have hung onto one major client and two minor ones for whom I have been able to WFH throughout the pandemic.

The major client will need me in the office to conduct a training session for a day in September. I can do that. Because I've been vaccinated and so have the trainees. Snap.
