If he goes there i wish him all the best.

Whether the egos there will allow the intense training and hard press that our players eventually revolted against remains to be seen...

One thing's for sure at the end of their career a lot of our players will look back and rue the day they downed tools for MP.

Get ready and prepare yourself for Poch to United boys and girls.... makes me feel sick to say that

Yer but finally after telling us hes going to Man Utd for the past 4 years Talk Sport, The Papers etc ... will finally be correct.

I liked Poch. Good luck to him but not if its at our expense.

I think he'll have a tough time there . His brilliant intensity idea in 2014 is now ubiquitous , he didn't come up with a second brilliant idea with us . Chance he has one for Utd is slim imo .

Certainly don't feel sick tho , wish him well generally of course .
I think it's also interesting that when we were 'peak Poch' and implementing the high intensity press so well, there wasn't actually that many teams doing the same.

United had Van Gaal who was trying to implement a total possession game. Then Jose who was certainly not using the press as much.
City who did press intensely but not under Pellegrino and Pep's first season not so much.
Liverpool certainly did under Klopp.
Arsenal not really.
Leicester - used low block and counter attack.
Chelsea - certainly didn't either.

Now you've got Leeds, Chelsea, Southampton, City, Liverpool (not as much but in areas), United (they do from the front although it's quite sporadic), Leicester and several others all implementing it in some aspects. Even West Ham do it in some areas (I know this cause I've seen a few Moyes videos in which he explains it's in his coaching).

That means that you cannot just create a pressing machine and expect to do well, you need something else. In game management, and that as we all know is one of Poch's shortcomings. I hope for his sake he has worked on this.

Poch will be good for them but he may have problems working with the glaziers and ed woodward. Its an enticing challenge to get utd back the top.

Perez travels everywhere in Poch’s pocket IIRC.

That made me laugh out loud so hard
Thx for posting it

Also I recon it's time to stop living in the past as Poch has been gone nearly a year and we are in a better position now than when he was here.
I liked him and his team very much and hindsight is a great thing We rode our luck to get to the CL final-this present squad/ mgmt team feel like we can really win something this year!

I'm not sure I fully understand your last sentence. Why would they regret it?

If they win a trophy or two that we have a big opportunity to this year, and in the seasons that follow I'm not sure they'll have an ounce of regret.

Man Utd fans are really starting to p*** me off (more than usual) I’ve read so many times that Man Utd has a better team now than Spurs had when Poch was in charge and he’ll take them to the next level blah, blah, blah! Poch’s first 11 was amazing at our peak, that’s what made upgrading it so hard. The fact that Jose managed to make his average Man Utd team finish above us in the league and knock us out of the FA Cup that year says more about their ex coach than ours. Poch is heading for a fall if he joins Man Utd as they already have unrealistic expectations on what he can achieve with their squad.

Its funny to see how many fans of other clubs actually have no real idea about him as a manager.

I think he is grossly over rated if i am honest, love the man but things fell into place with him here. When those things started to fall out of place he couldn't quite get it right

Too many people outside are blinkered by the CL run, we were woeful for a good 12 months before the end, maybe longer.

He is most certainly an improvement on Ole, but if they think they are getting the man to take them to higher things with his tactical nouse and in game management they are going to be in for a big shock.

I don't think so , I think he'll get them playing to a much higher standard consistently than ole has, which unfortunately for us creates a much harder competition for trophies and top 4 places .
Hence why spurs fans rightly don't want him going there and would rather he went abroad because we know he'll get them looking like a good team

He has a tiresome agenda against our manager (He used to be a good poster on coys 10 years ago FWIW, but is completely different now). It’s boring.

We all respect Poch for what he did for us, but he’s gone. Mourinho is here now and 99% of fans want him to win trophies for us just like we wanted to do with Poch. Yet some people post with an under current of not wanting us to win with Mourinho because we didn’t with Poch. It’s on here every week when we don’t win. There’s a glee that we haven’t had a victory. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of us not winning things. I’ve had enough of living with failure with spurs. I don’t want to speak for everyone, but I suspect a majority have. Yet some still don’t want to pull in the same direction to achieve that. I can’t understand it.

Edit: I should add losing that CL final absolutely fucking destroyed me in terms of football. It took me until after lockdown to get over it. I don’t and can’t feel like that again. Then when I see people saying they would rather we didn’t win anything under Mourinho it disgusts me. I’ve no time for it. I need that trophy to help get me fully over that disappointment. Only then will it truly feel better.

No offence, but that (the second half of the post) sounds.... really unhealthy!

I hope this speculation makes PSG twitch, and go for Poch. He would actually win stuff there.

I have no doubt he’ll take to a higher standard but they want to be Prem champions. They are miles away from that! Would they be happy with always making the top 4? I think they will expect more.

I'm sensing a few "he wasn't that good anyway" type posts in here...

From me not that "he wasnt that good anyway" because he for a small period, but he is hugely over rated by all non Spurs fans and a few of ours too. Definitely isnt close to the elite bracket of managers
