In the season he moved there he was not trusted by Conte.
He forced his way into the team in January in the 20/21 title winning season.
By the end of that title wining season he was a mainstay with Brozovic and Barella in a 3 man CM.
Sorry, that's not fully the case.
In 24 games post the new year period in Serie A, Eriksen featured:
6 x unused sub
3 x came off the bench
11 x subbed off majority between 60th 70th min.
He only made a full 90 twice.

In the same games Brozovic played the full 90 x 17 times.

Barella played the full 90 x 16 times in the same period.

So although he did feature more the 2nd half the season, he wasn't really a mainstay. He was a squad player.

For what it's worth and as I've said before, I would have him back in a heartbeat. My point was I'm not sure Conte massively fancies him and I'd say the stats at Inter back it up.

Sorry - but I have to reply as you are really not bieng accurate with your commentary on this.

Eriksen really was a mainstay of the inter title winning team from the end of January onwards having forced his way into the team following a match winning substitute appearance in the Milan derby (Italian Cup), scoring a direct free kick 7 minutes into injury time (on 26th January 2021). Before this goal he was publicly told he was available for transfer by Inter. After the game, for the first time, Conte said he was staying. He started the next game on Jan 30th (home against Benevento), and the next Feb 2nd (away at Juve) which Inter lost 2-1. He was back on the bench for the next game (away at Fiorentina) on Feb 5th. No surprise for a player who had not featured much to not be able to start three games in six days! He returned to the starting line up on Feb 9th (0-0 draw versus Juve). He also started the next game versus Lazio (3-1 win) on Feb 14th. By now very much part of the starting XI in a winning team.

He actually started the vast majority of their games once he'd scored that late winner in the Milan derby at the end of January ....

30-JAN STARTED vs Benevento
2-FEB STARTED vs Juve

5-FEB Sub vs Fiorentina *did not start 3rd game in 6 days after not playing much*
9-FEB STARTED vs Juventus
14-FEB STARTED vs Lazio
21-FEB STARTED vs AC Milan
28-FEB STARTED vs Genoa
4-MAR STARTED vs Parma

8-MAR Sub vs Atalanta *injured*
14-MAR Sub vs Torino *missed game through injury*
<international Break>
3-APRIL STARTED vs Bologna
7-APRIL STARTED vs Sassulo
11-APRIL STARTED vs Cagliari
18-APRIL STARTED vs Napoli
21-APRIL STARTED vs Spezia
25-APRIL STARTED vs Hellas Verona

1-MAY Sub vs Crotone (came on and scored)
8-May STARTED vs Sampdoria
12-May Sub vs Roma
15-May STARTED vs Juventus
23-May Sub vs Udinese (came on in 39th minute, scored 44th minute)

To say he was a squad player is really a dis-service to a player that was clearly a key component of their title winning team in the second half of the season. He did take time to win Conte over as he clearly was not a player Conte wanted when he was signed, and he took a long time to get over language and stylistic issues. Much like other creative midfielders who have struggled under Conte and his very specific way of playing. Once he got into the team, it was only really injury when he did not start.

My point was that I don't know if he fits a Conte system. I stand by that.

In the 15 games you note above that he started, he was taken off in 11 of them. Therefore, I would conclude that Conte did not see him as Important as Brozovic or Barella - who both started more games and very rarely were ever subbed.

That is pretty impressive doubling down.
Aside from naming the player who replaced Eriksen and the score when he came off, I’m not sure what else can be done to show you that conte obviously trusted Eriksen to create chances and maintain possession in the big games.
He might not have been the player chosen to close out games to help shut up shop but he certainly contributed to a winning system.
But as none of us are mind readers, we’ll have to find out in the summer if conte wants to work with him again

Eriksen should be the first deal we complete this summer, instantly improves us. To those saying he doesn't fit into the 3-4-3, I agree. But Conte will want flexibility beyond that, and we struggle when we go behind in matches. I think Conte is very open to using a 3-5-2, it's just that he doesn't/didn't particularly rate Ndombele, Lo Celso and Alli, and in the absence of them there isn't an alternative system to go for.

He would have been perfect to bring on at OT as ultimately we had control of possession but either lacked ideas or showed too many technical deficiencies with final balls.

Id love him back but im a sentimental fucker. The thing is if Brnetford stay up - and they offer him a contract, would he really turn down a team and a manager who gave him a chance to come back to football? It would be more than just about being at a bigger club, I imagine your mindset would change etc

Great and overlooked point. Hope Brentford go down now hahaha

Has @Typical Spurs confirmed this. Will he even fit in with the Denmark managers ethos?

I'm not comfortable until TS says it'll work.
Look @CoopsieDeadpool I'm the knob who after a 20 minute cameo said Kulu wouldn't amount to anything. So clearly I'm prone to spouting some shit to be honest!

Though I stand by Emerson being dreadful. But that's for another thread.

And I'm so happy for Eriksen getting back in the Denmark squad. I've have him back in an instant.

Glad you showed that you had the sense of humour I'd hoped for when making my post.

Though my dad used to say "Wish humour could introduce you sense"
