I watched the full 90 9f the Norwich vs Brentford game just to see how he did.

In short, there is no way he doesn't improve us. So much better than some of the complete dross we've got currently.

I know he doesn't fit Conte's system. Neither do any our wingbacks though who play every week.

Didn't Conte win the league with Eriksen part of a 3 man midfield?

Yes and no.

In the second half of the season he moved to Inter he made the starting eleven only 8 times.

In the whole of the 20/21 season he started only 17 games for Inter. He came on as sub 9 times. He was an unused sub 11 times.

So yes Conte won the league with Eriksen in his squad. But he was very much a squad player who was not massively favoured by Conte

I think we'll see him come back in the summer

Really hope so. I said in another thread but to start the summer signings off with Eriksen on a free would be really encouraging IMO. Would instantly give us something we can often so sorely lack. Someone who can actually pick a pass as well as he can would open up all sorts of opportunities for the wing backs and forwards.

Id love him back but im a sentimental fucker. The thing is if Brnetford stay up - and they offer him a contract, would he really turn down a team and a manager who gave him a chance to come back to football? It would be more than just about being at a bigger club, I imagine your mindset would change etc

If he's enjoying playing again, under a Danish manager, at a club where the expectations and pressure are far less, why leave Brentford to come back to Tottenham? To win trophies???

Ex manager in charge of a team you spent over 5 yearsenal with. Not to mention playing with his friends. Why not?

I suppose given his recent health scare, I wonder whether Christian might just prefer the lower level of expectation and pressure at Brentford. Staying put there if he has the option, might just be the wisest choice.

Would love him back but got a feeling he might stay at Brentford.

We've never replaced him, I've said it before but no one can take a ball in midfield like him and get the attack going, so many times he would drop between the centre backs to take the ball from them and get us up field. Kane is the only player in our squad who can do it.

Possibly, or perhaps he sees it as a 2nd chance at making the most from his time to play football.

See my other post with the stats. He was a squad player under Conte.
He was the first year he was there, but he forced his way into the team and was first choice form Jan - May. He had the same problems that Fabregas had playing under Conte - you have to pass where he tells you to pass.

In the season he moved there he was not trusted by Conte.
He forced his way into the team in January in the 20/21 title winning season.
By the end of that title wining season he was a mainstay with Brozovic and Barella in a 3 man CM.
