There’s one question to ask in the studio and they don’t ask it:
Is it a penalty if Thiago does that to Kane?

They don’t ask or discuss because they know the answer is a clear NO
always been that way, though. different standard in the box. same reason a foul at midfield isnt a foul and pen in the box.

I guess this has gone to plan so far? They are well organised, and technically good, and at home. A draw would be excellent, and we'd still have our games in hand on them. But they do look like they can be got at. If we can get Lucas on with giving them too much space, we might nick this.

Tanganga needs to learn how to play on a yellow card, he's a defender for Fucks sake.

Chill.

I'm happy with our 1st half performance.
Chelsea had chances but didn't convince. We are handling Lukaku well.
Hudson-Odoi is a better player than Tangaga, so its likely that 2nd half they would target him. I dont know if a straight-swap with Royal is the answer.
Bergwin is threatening with direct runs. I think we can score if we bring Lucas on.

We always look like we are playing with 10 men against chelsea. Still much better than the previous 2 outings against this lot so far. As everyone else has said, Tangaga needs to come off, and i would be getting Sess off pretty soon as well. Hopefully they will tire on the 2nd half and we'll get a few chances.
It’s not that we’re playing like we have 10, it’s that we’re playing against 12

That’s not on VAR, no way they could overturn it when Kane clearly puts a hand on his back. That’s all on the ref.
Ref is a fking clown had enough of corrupt or clueless refs ruining our once beautiful game. Wouldn't suprise me to see us losing 1 nil now and that costing us.

The way some people react to a yellow card here...no wonder spurs are labelled spursy...how many yellows Roy Keane had throughout his career, calm down please
Yeah ok, but in Keane's day the yellow was awarded for the third bone cruncher, with another three to a red. Tanganga has a yellow for one shove, and was a grab of the shirt away from a red. Different game now. You know CHO is going to nudge it past him in a few mins, Tanganga's going to step across him, and he'll be getting his second yellow.

Whilst the decision was an awful one and the goal should stood at the end of the day we don’t have the quality they do and are relying on very few chances and ball retention compared to them so if we do lose for me it’s not because of bad decisions it’s just because right now the squad isn’t quite where we need it to be to go to Stamford bridge and try to dominate them and score a few like we did under Poch when we won 3-1.

Right now we COULD sneak a win or draw today and I bloody hope we do but given the amount of ball near our goal and chances they’ve been having compared to us more often than not they will win this game, poor referring decisions or not.

Anyways I hope the players show good mentality, put that behind them and take another chance or 2 and beat these bastards. ?

If we turn the case around, would Kane have got a penalty if Thiago would've touched him? Quite sure the studio prats would have said: I don't think it's enough contact for a penalty there...

I can see why both the referee gave the decision and why VAR didn't overturn it. Kane has no business putting his hands on Thiago Silva, it's that simple. It's a very soft call, but it's also very needless from Kane.
It's a contact sport, FFS! The way Silva fucking dived like Klinsmann says it all. No one in the right mind would give that. We'd have a dozen penalties/disallows per game.

Kane gave the ref a choice, and whichever way he went VAR could not have viewed it as a clear and obvious error. It sucks but that’s the way it is.
