Maybe Pep can bring his best attackers on....wait, they're already on.

He's outsmarted himself again by starting with no defensive players in midfield.

I know feck all about football compared to Pep but it seems to me there is a massive striker shaped hole in this Citeh team.

Not as bad as the big defensive midfield shaped hole. They've got enough quality to score but their midfield is getting beaten.

The DM shaped hole is bigger. They've blitzed so many teams aside without a striker but not playing either Rodri or Fernandinho is suicide.

Pep is his own worse enemy in big games. He’s played with a holding midfielder all of his career then decides to change that up tonight. Havertz has been picking up the ball in acres of space all half.

Cant understand what he was thinking tinkering with a winning formula again.

Werner really has a problem connecting with the ball when he shoots. It's like he doesn't keep his eye on it.

the way to win against city is to let them have the ball & then counter them ....it will create chances, especially with werner, havertz & mount's pace

I was about to say Chelsea should be more encouraged, but might feel they haven't made the most of it. Then they scored and a rewrite was needed.

But yeah, City have been way off it so far and are wide open to be got at. Easy to say where is their holding midfielder, which is valid, but I doubt one player is sorting out the issues seen in that 45 mins. And their attacking players haven't turned up yet, poor with the ball and some fairly dismal efforts without it.

One team has settled fairly well, one hasn't at all.

We had 90+ minutes to do something back, but did fuck all. Don't fool yourself by thinking that we lost the final because of a particular decision by the referee after some ridiculous pointing by Sissoko(!) in his own box; we played a completely unfit striker and didn't turn up when it really mattered, that's the real story of that final.

Okay.

I'd just suggest that single(wrong) decision completely changed the game and made us unable to risk going 2 down (and likewise made Liverpool unwilling to risk going for a second) so that one game between those two teams was completely unlike any of the the 6 games between those same sides and mangers before.

When you say "fuck all" I say we we were in the game and Liverpool had ZERO chances until Origi's game ender.

But clearly we feel differently about it.

Desperately needs to prove he's the smartest and ends up overthinking it every time.

Ffs. Just think back to where Chelsea were in October, makes you realise how important a top coach is.

Chelsea look the far more efficient side. City are hoping on little moments of brilliance but their general play and build up has been poor.
