Im not even sure how good this guy is. Incredible stats for sure, probably much better thsn eriksens for ajax before we had signed him. Comparable league also. Eriksen had already made the step up to being a key part for his national team.

Having never seen this guy and watvhing a video that somebody posted in here he looked identical to gylf sigurdsson in his play and style....Would that be a fair comparison?

Fwiw, I think he's better - more influential and stronger in the challenge.

I haven't seen a lot of him, but one obvious difference is his mobility - Fernandes is more slight, agile and quick than Gylfi.

While Sigurdsson has a mean shot, at Spurs it often felt like he was half a yard too slow or too physically cumbersome to get his shots away and was often crowded out or had them blocked. I don't think Fernandes would have that problem.

I can't help but feel this is a game of chicken with Betis... He's a brilliant player but 70m is a huge risk. Personally I think I'd be happier with GLC

I feel like Levy is waiting for one of/or both of Betis and Lisbon to blink first and come down to our suggested price. Dangerous game on both sides but they'll, surely, know that once our window closes that other teams from around Europe won't even be able to offer 80% of what we apparently have offered for both?!

That's fine and it's all about opinions.

But you cannot expect to challenge.

I don't deny that these are top quality replacements. But if you want to challenge you HAVE to add.

And we don't seem to be able to add.

But if you're happy with being 'a Arsenal' that's all good.
How is making us stronger make me happy being Arsenal? You seem to have miss the point altogether. The scenario as you described will make us stronger in my opinion, but I didn't say that we should not add as well, something that I expect us to do.

Wish people would stop quoting bookies’ odds as a signal as to potential likelihood of signings. Their models are made of statistical analysis combined with the trend of betting. Media influences betting behaviour and respective betting behaviour reinforces media links. It’s a cess pit and I personally would much rather wait for Igi, JJ, Hercs etc before I react to any odds. That’s a mugs game.

My pessimist side still thinks he will end up at Man Utd. We can offer CL football but they can offer a tonne load of more cash

I haven't found the original source myself, but a friend of mine is saying that Liverpool "ITKs" are saying that Fernandes is going to sign with them...

If what he says is true then it sounds like his agent is very good at his job

They've 55% higher turnover, so doubt they can or are willing to offer say double the wages we are offering.
