My only real worry for this guy is where he fits in, as for all his good work rate I’m not sure he’s robust enough for a CM2 without a pure DM next to him, but we seem to be moving away from using a pure DM. Then in AM, for all his great output in Portugal, that’s probably down to him being too good for the league more than natural attacking instincts. I think he looks like a CM3 midfielder, which we don’t overly utilise.

That said, he has the raw ingredients so if Pochettino is the great coach we herald him to be, then Bruno should work out.
I have a feeling we might morph into a 4222 regularly during games

Liverpool fans were raving about this guy when they played in preseason. They were saying how good he looked and not surprised teams were in for him. A few said us signing him would totally transform our midfield alongside NDombele and would see us completely close the gap on them.

I’m actually getting excited about this guy now and will be gutted if we don’t get him.

Me too. I think he’s be a perfect Eriksen replacement. Weirdly I’d prefer him to Dybala.

There are three players we’re after, who if we get, we’ll be totally sorted for midfield and attack for years.

Would be the most exciting Spurs squad I could remember

For a start I'm not using Villa as an example of players we should have signed. I'm not saying we should be signing Marvelous Nakamba.

The context I was using is that Villa had holes in their squad and they've filled them. Liverpool had holes last summer and they filled them. They also added.

We cannot simple just replace what we've lost and not add. You think Poch will be happy with that?

He'll bloody walk.

It could easily be both. He obviously has good natural attacking instincts. Strange conclusion to draw.

Me too. Dybala has the 'turn up when you feel like it' aura about him and Fernandes also doesn't bottle out of challenges.

Just basing it on the little I've seen of him which, he seems far more drawn to the halfway line than the penalty area.

Modric also scored a ****load in his last season in Croatia.

Right but Modric isn't an attacking midfielder, this guy is.

Once again, before joining us the perception of Modric was very much that he was an attacking midfielder, it transpired that he was a very talented central midfielder. My gut tells me, based only on what I've seen of Bruno which admittedly is fewer than ten matches, that this is also true of this player. Doesn't make me want him any less, I'm always happy to see us signing a talented player.
He did very much start in CM in both Portugal's European Nation's League matches for what it's worth.

This guy hits it better from range than Modric. Looks a real threat in and around the box.

He’d have to be sensational in CM to stop you putting him further forward

I agree with this. Really hope we get Fernandes, would be a fantastic signing and could see him fit our style of play very, very well!
