Issue with this one is that I feel like he's about 3 or 4 places down on the needs list. DM, Defenders of any position, Striker and Goal Keeper appear to be more needed than an 8.

But then again you see Alli play like today...

Mourinho seems to prefer Lo Celso further up the pitch. Even though Lo Celso came on for Eriksen, Alli dropped back into the position Eriksen was playing and Lo Celso went further up the pitch. Maybe Fernandes would fill the Eriksen role more?

Still a little confused why we aren’t more after Soumare as he seems a more natural fit, but we really just need to replenish talent at the moment and Bruno is excellent.

This is a weird phenomenon we’ve had for years. Players that join who are deemed good at set pieces do just that for a few years and then seemingly lose all ability to do it ( see both VDV and Sig as well).

Sounds like his people are at the game today. He may well prefer us (Mourinho, currently in CL) but you'd imagine Utd can offer better financials to both the player and Sporting. I guess that is what TottenhamBoys means by 'in the balance'.

Even so, if levy et al lose out to Woodward on a transfer, even with Man Utd’s financial muscle, then we’ve real problems!

Not just the goals, but the ability to hold the ball up. Even more important now we have Jose.

I don't disagree with trying to get the player at a better price, but 25m is nothing nowadays, that transfer should/could have been wrapped up in a week. English teams are not accepting lower fees either now so there's very little point in haggling

I just don’t see how we get Dele, Tanguy and Bruno in the same side without a major change to the formation (which doesn’t really feel possible without major personnel changes at full back and DM). Good player though

Bruno has the pace to play out wide left which moved Son into CF (while Kane is out). He can also play deep (so can GLC). Lots of options.

However I do agree, I’d like a true CF option even if just a loan.

Yeah, I mean, I just feel like our squad is crying out for a DM, backup striker and two new fullbacks. Yet we’re heavily linked today with Gedson and Bruno a CM and AM. Maybe that’s it’s just not possible to fix the other positions but not having a DM for the next 6 months will fuck us regardless of who is playing CM

TBF we've seen Son bury chances 10 times harder than tonight. Lucas too. Just one of those days. But I agree, a striker is needed. Hopefully it's Piątek.
