Do you guys not think that the level of wags will eventually start coming down once clubs realise they cant afford to run the books that way and not be penalised

probably mate, I mean they seem to be attracted by the money, not the players looks, just look at Abbey Clancy.

We are more or less owned by a billionaire (Joe Lewis), as are United (Glazers) and Arsenal have a billionaire invester. In fact you probably cannot compete at the top of the Premier League without a billionaire backer of some sort.

There's a world of difference between a publicly owned company, like us (with a billionaire shareholder) and privately owned ones (like City, Liverpool, Utd and Chelsea).

Our accounts are audited each year, there are no dodgy loans hidden away, you can see where the funding comes from and how much.

As a result we can see that in our case the fact that our major shareholder is a billionaire is a total irrelevance as far as funding is concerned. He doesn't put his cash in to fund the club, we live or die on turnover and profits (just as any normal business does.).

This contrasts with Chelsea and City who don't have a business model - or if they do it goes along the lines of get the billionaire to put shit-loads of dosh in and then get him to right it off or turn it into equity.

Their success is predicated by what they do on the pitch but by how rich and how committed their benefactor is.

For this reason there's no comparison between us and them.

This is why I don't want Romelo Lukaku.

He said something about being interested in playing for any of the "Big 5" in England, then went on to say that Spurs are a good club too.

MUG.

I think that for the next few seasons there could be a 'big 6'.

United
Arsenal
City
Chelsea
Spurs
Liverpool

In days gone by it has been United and Arsenal, then United and Chelsea as the title challengers and big 2. Liverpool have to be respected because of the annoying pull they have in terms of history for players, that and the big wages they have been paying. They have new owners who will want to impress etc. City are the new money and we are up and coming too.

The next couple of transfer windows and our plans for the new stadium are massive, I feel we could be on the cusp of playing regularly in the champs league if we can just finish top 4, 2 out of the next 3 years, our profile would rise massively and we could then push the boat out in terms of wages etc.

The immediate future for your Villa's and Everton's looks like being very much outside of the above 6 teams. I was discussing this with an Everton mate of mine and he is gutted the way the game is so money orientated now and how his team are going to struggle with their finances and ground over the next few years.

The stadium conundrum is huge for us for the long term, the champs league qualification again and holding onto our players massive in the short term.

I wouldn't take too much notice of the lazy cliches The Sun and Sky come up with to categorize football clubs. If we miss out on top 4 to City this year they'll be heralding the arrival of the 'New Big 4' next season.

Bollocks to 'em.
