Seeing the different choices on the best ever spurs xi's got me thinking about the most effective striker combinations ever. Not necessarily as individuals but in partnership.

Ones that come to mind are :

Smith and Greaves ( though I never saw them )
Greaves and Gilzean
Chivers and Gilzean
Archibald and Crooks
Sheringham and Klinsmann
Kanoute and Defoe
Berbatov and Keane

Maybe I've forgotten some but I would still go for Greaves and Gilzean as they complemented each other perfectly. I do think that Archibald and Crooks neither of who would be thought of as great strikers individually were a vastly underrated partnership.

The only strike partnerships I have seen at Spurs I could call great were Klinsmann and Sheringham and Berbatov and Keane

I loved the Crooks/Archibald combo

They didnt have the individual class of Berbs or Klin or even Teddy but they bring back great memories of the football around that time with Villa/Ardiles/Glenda/Galvin etc etc etc and Im sure 1 season they scored 40-50 goals between them

The most underrated was the Sheringham-Armstrong partnership. People forget they scored close to 50 goals together in the 95-96 season.

Although I thought Durie was pants, I have fond memories of the Teddy/Durie combo. Nostalgia certainly.

My favourite one was Sheringham and Klinsmann. I'm only 25 though so didn't see some of the others.

for the 80/81 season Crooks and Archibald. With Hoddle supplying them they were lethal. After that season they never payed a full season again together because of injurys.

Berbs and Keane. Absolute dynamite. They were the best partnership in the league at one stage.

I'd have to say Crooks and Archibald. With Greaves/Gilzean and Bebasulk/Keane not far behind.

And lets' not forget Clive and Allen!
