I've got to say when I initially heard the news I was quite disappointed, but looking at the offer and the way he has performed and his general attitude over the last few weeks, we would be crazy to turn it down.
His goal scoring record is excellent and we'll struggle to replace that but he is nowhere near the quality of Drogba/Rooney and his all round play is pretty poor. He is as weak as piss at times (losing 60/40 challenges etc).
Does that sound familiar?
By all accounts his agent has been pushing the club for a wage rise to 90k+ for the last 12 months, which we have refused to meet but Villa are prepared to pay.
I have a feeling if he goes for that fee, he will struggle to deal with the high price tag and expectations.
We'll see..
I think Gyan is the better player myself and Welbeck looks very useful but will probably go back to Manu. I can't say I miss DB here and I got the impression he didn't celebrate to keenly at yours when Gyan was scoring.Sunderland fan here.

If Gyan gets crocked, where will their goals come from?
