We beat Liverpool and Man Utd before we played Wimbledon & Leicester, so it wasn't like we had the easiest of cup runs that year anyway.

I went to that game at Anfield. Some Spurs fans were in the kop & got moved by the stewards by us (we were in the Liverpool end but I had my spurs shirt on), nice couple of lads, they were probably the first Spurs fans I ever spoke to. Hello again if you're reading this. :hello:

RSS what I didn't like was your sarcastic tone (as I interpreted it) and frankly your replies haven't helped that much- so I'm not bothering to reply to them -

ok...

if you don't agree that this season (so far) isn't better than 99 that's your opinion (don't recall saying that...)- all you had to do was put your point across in a civilised manner instead of giving me one of these  things which as an old git I don't particularly like - (why? I was showing a sign of confusion - i've never met anyone who i've upset with a shrug. My ignorance once or twice, my intelligence once or twice, never a shrug though. Apologies for that, you weirdo  )

and where was I in 99 - nat Wembley - where were you? - where was i in 71 - at Wembley where were you? where was I betwen 71-99 at every lge cup final - where were you? - (woah there tex! I never asked where you were! You asked me where i was... when? For the 99 cup final? the 91 final? Who knows...)

where was i in 69 when Arsenal set up the 40 years of hurt we avenged in 2008 - at the Lane where were you - oh and i was there in 2008 too!

(just putting the kettle on, brb)

I've been posting on these boards for years now - thousands of posts - hundreds documenting my long and loyal support of the club - and if you and Flatters still think I'm some kind of teenager you clearly don't read my posts much - which is of course your pregotative - (it's the internet - i often pretend i'm a dwarf. Why? Cos i can! It's fucking hilarious for me, but there you go; little things, eh? )

regarding the name I just chose it on a whim - probably was a mistake - but really judge the posts not the title - I assume you are a superstar BTW - which band did/do you play in?

 Touche, but the band had about 5 names, i was a roadie and stood in when the singer was too wasted. often.

I don't get why half of your post came up - i posted one single line of text, asking the guy why he didn't list '99 as... something about cups? I can't even remember, then the next thing i see is you dismantling me for daring to suggest that '99s cup win was worthy of mention, or something.

Now you're waving your willy about - want to know why i wasn't at all them games? Because i'm pretty poor. Have a dig about that if you want, it'll all bounce off the same

Now, you're chummying up about the 99 victory. I'm very confused so correct me if i sum up wrong;

Because you're older than me and have been to more games than me, my question as to why the 99 Carling Cup wasn't mentioned was, for some reason, offensive to you.

Despite me not comparing any of our victories so far, you decided that i did (as usual, too lazy to double check, so could be wrong) and started telling me that i was wrong to think that beating Wimbledon and Leicester was as much of an achievement as beating the Woolwich and Chelsea... as i said, i am very, very confused.

Why did you pick on me? Do you love the sound of my dainty fingers hitting these big butch keys as much as me?

phwoar... :hump:

hi RSS :) Let's leave it now - I did over react to your 'where were you in 99 and  which had it been a smiley would have saved us a lot of typing- I'm quite happy to apologise for that

as to the rest I said, and I stick by it, that this season (so far) has been our best since 91 - if other people differ fine - just argue in a nice way :)

I thought the fact that we don't want Bent assassinated was what made us bad Spurs fans.

Initially i thought it was your hair, but you could be onto something...

Bent has got a pretty big head though, i would imagine that's a bit of a big drawback if you have a sniper/hitman on your case. Bigger target. Someone like Teemu or Lennon wouldn't be half such an easy shot

As this thread had degenerated in to subjects not even closely related to how fantastic Darren Bent will be some time soon, it is time to close it.

Thanks goes to all those who have participated in an interesting debate about our third striker.
