Sorry 'Arry, can't agree with you. His positional sense still leaves a lot to be desired. Also, his covering of fellow defenders is not good. He goes forward very well, but his crossing is not good. If it was my choice, I'd have Kyle Walker at right back and Danny Rose on the left. Sadly, that won't happen.

I think he has been great with the odd exception here and there for the last two years. My only criticism is his overlapping and crossing - or the lack of it. When Bale is having two men on him, Benny needs to release the pressure by going on the overlap and putting some quality balls in the box. That is something that impressed me with Rose at the end of the season, his crossing is vastly superior to Benny.

Those comments underneath the article are outrageous! They only think he is not that good because Alan Hansen says so. I think Benny is good at everything except his distribution which can be sloppy at times. He is definitely the best left-back I have seen at Spurs.

I really don,t understand peoples views about his distribution being poor. I think his distribution is excellent, some of his long cross field balls and general passing is quality (ball to bale for og v werder bremen, ball for crouch to flick on for lennons goal v liverpool, pass to lennon for pen v arsenal etc)

Quick, strong, composed, strong the tackle and good in the air.

Top notch player that is going to be massively important next season.
