I imagine similar in the new stadium. Arsenal are the most supported club in London along with the day trippers. I can't imagine us beating them on attendance week in week out.

Wembleys a given that we won't.

Especially given it was a midweek game VS an already relegated Sunderland... sure the numbers are lower than you'd expect but if there was ever gonna be any game that was gonna be quiet, it was gonna be this one

Although wasn't that their last home game of the season?

I hated going under Sherwood but still went to games. The team being managed by him took some of the love out of attending and it felt like a chore but I still went and so did the majority of fans who felt the same way.

I guess it speaks for their fan base as a whole though when they stay away for an important fixture for them. Fortunately they'll never be like us.

I'm not giving too much grief over attendance. It's all relative.

I would have thought fire and safety regulations would be important.

Smokey to boss... 'Yes Chief - We evacuated 45,000 fans'

Boss to Smokey... 'But that means there are still about 15,000 inside somewhere, get back in and find them'

I hope that maybe the fire brigade has better sources than #Attendancewatch on Twitter...

Sorry why would any game at this stage of the season expect to be quiet?
They're fighting for CL qualification...it wasn't a dead rubber.

Why as an arsenal fan would you care about cl? It distracts them from winning the league ;).

I didn't say I'd expect it to be quiet. I said the numbers were lower than you'd expect. Obviously the protest played a part of it but there's a lot of other factors at play that wouldn't have made this the most attractive game to go to.

Yes, Arsenal still have something to play for, no matter how out of their hands it is, but as I've been saying this game is a mid-week game vs an already relegated team. Add in that this is a game that originally was postponed and then it's unlikely as hell that this would have been a busy game.

Not really sure what your point is tbh...shitty fans don't turn up when their team needs them, thats all there is to it imo.

Did this little exchange not all start with us saying we don't give too much grievance to Arsenal's attendance last night and that we won't be selling out all the time?

My point was just expanding on that, saying I can understand why it wasn't that big an attendance. Even if you take away the protest element it still wouldn't have been that great an attendance. That's all my point is.

Not really, I suggested that we might not sell out every game next year.
But if we struggle to sell out a game with CL qualification on the line, id be deeply embarrassed of our supporters.

Riggi was saying he didn't think too much of the low numbers and I was agreeing with him.

As for the CL qualification etc... I think it's certainly embarrassing to an extent. The main thing though is this is a rescheduled game. I don't have facts or figures or anything but I feel like any game that has to be rescheduled because of a cup game is always going to get less people through the door.

If their game against Everton doesn't sell out though... THAT is the one that'd be truly embarrassing and worth talking about.

Reality is they've had too much of a good thing for years and the glory boys who've attached themselves to this lose interest more easily than fans who have a deep rooted love of a Club, gone through thick and thin etc..

Anyway, if God is fair it's their turn to be fooked for two decades.
