Would have played Carroll or sig over Defoe personally, but like the team nonetheless.

Yeah we can expect to be dominated in the possession area with that 3 operating. Say what you want but Wilshere has looked sharp since he's been back (although he fades with fatigue in 2nd half hence the red)

Carzola interestingly has been regarded as ineffective last month and loads of their fans saying they should drop him; hope they are right.

Really worried about what the Arsenal midfield will do against Huddlestone. It is just the type of ball playing midfield that will totally bypass him. If this is the case I hope AVB realises it early and makes the necessary change.

Why does he drop Caulker?? Best player against city & made England Debut & scored! Surely he is on a high!

Other than that its a brave team AVB has picked credit to him for that.

I'm guessing caulker is injured.

Because he is injured?

Match up's i'm looking foward to;

Indirectly A fairly rusty Sirchesney against Lloris.
Defoe and/or Ade against Mertersacker.
Lennon against Vermaelen. (an early booking for Vermaelen would be nice)

Why oh why oh why oh why oh f*cking why is Huddlestone playing for spurs? He is hopeless, I was never a fan, never, even at his mediocre best, I didnt bloody like him. He has no short passing awareness whatsoever, he can't run, can't head, can't tackle, he gives the ball away, he has no positional awareness etc.

Carroll is already a better player imo if no other reason than he can run, can pass, has awareness and always wants the ball. We will get destroyed in midfield today because Huddlestone will do what he normally does and try to stand beside the cbs and constantly give the ball away!

I am not a happy camper!

AVB is still being deceived by his size and 'flare'...it might take a little longer for him to see that he really only has as much stature as Carroll in reality. Some managers just have to learn the hard way.

Very happy with the team, maybe would have gone with Carroll over Defoe but at least we're going for it

I don't think what form has been on late should be taken into effect so much when it comes to the NLD.

All bets are off, this is the type of game where you either rise up or get pushed to the wayside. For me, the NLD represents a clean slate that separates the players who can rise to the occasion of a big stage and history, from those who simply don't.

Very pleased that Lloris is playing and Vertonghen is a CB. I am always wary of playing 4-4-2 against teams who can dominate the midfield, but that team does seem to be the best we can put out without risking playing an inexperienced Carroll.

I really hope this line up means the penny has dropped regarding Lloris and to a lesser extent Vertonghen's best position. Just a shame we don't have Dembele fit, as I think they are there for a mauling.

I hope Hudd and Sandro both sit and Lennon and Bale tuck in when we don't have the ball or else we're gonna be wide open in the middle. Sandro can't do it all.

Very interesting lineup, Will be interested to see if thats a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 formation with Adebayor dropping behind Defoe.
