I agree with this to a point. Jenas was all like "ugh same old Tottenham", implying that this was the same sort of performance we've been putting in so far this season but I thought it was much, much better in the first half. The couple of minutes where we let in that awful second and Royal's red obviously kicked us in the balls and it was pretty much a foregone conclusion from then on.People are getting carried away. The first half went relatively well. We made a mistake early second half by a player who has been excellent for a long time (Lloris has saved us many times). That mistake didn’t have to be terminal. But the red card soon after - a decision that was very harsh - compounded the problem. It means the narrative will be about those two errors but there’s a lot more to the game and our season than that. It’s shit but it’s football.
His replacement Doherty is fucking hopeless which doesn’t help
No different to the last couple of months. The more the hype grows, the more they’ll believe it and the more the rest of the league will put a target on their backs. That could turn into a dangerous situation for them when they’ve got a lot of tough games to come. And with Haaland’s goal scoring it feels like we’re all playing for 2nd anyway. It's going to be f'ing insufferable for a while. Everyone will be queuing up to blow smoke up them.
we won't unless Conte revisits his tacticsThe game completely hinges on Lloris throwing one in his own net. After that we were rattled, never found a groove and finally killed off by Emerson’s moment of lunacy. Quibble all you like about it being a marginal red card, but the fact remains the ball was nowhere near him and gave the ref a decision to make.
Conte needs to embrace the midfield three sooner rather than later. Son/Richy/Kane looked completely kanckared from their international endeavours and were completely redundant all game.
We’ll still finish above them.
And we've got Brighton away, who could end up a point behind us with a win, or even ahead if they beat Liverpool today. They've got Liverpool next week. We'll have those points back
I don't think he wants to sacrifice one if our three up front because they are were the strength lies.If he continues to stick with 2 in midfield we're doing nothing this season, and I'm sure he must see that. I don't know if it's sheer stubbornness but it has to change.
Only played 8 matchesSeem to hear this every week
Sadly I wouldn't bet on itThe positive is, this is surely the last of Emerson as a guaranteed starter.
They look a better side than Liverpool at the momentThey've got Liverpool next week. We'll have those points back
Is Spence any worse than Royal who can't cross a ball for God sake? His replacement Doherty is fucking hopeless which doesn’t help
Honestly I enjoyed the international break because things were a bit quieter for a week. Spurs is stressing me out too much on our own without even considering the Goons.
Time for us all to log off, avoid Talksport and certain podcasts for a few days and enjoy other things in life*.
*Now waits to be let down by his teams in both rugby and NFL. But England could still win in the cricket right? RIGHT??!!!
All boils down to not paying over the limit for multiple quality players. Its a real shame.Somethings never change no matter who’s in charge, we’ll always have that hurdle where we fall short.
