Must be someone different in La Liga as Nico Williams wouldn't need keeping quiet, his name is out there already as a player of interest.
Sneaky suspicion it's Kubo.
Maybe but we haven’t been fully linked with interest have we? So could be many reasons his name could be kept quiet

True, but he seems a bit to well known to keep it quiet, he's a player that a number of big clubs will be monitoring.

Jaden Philogene caught the headlines last night with a wonderful rabona goal when the score was 1-1.
He looks like a very good dribbler and is full of tricks. 7 goals and 5 assists in the Championship so far.
He's 22, so may have just found his feet.

If it’s someone that’s off the radar my guess would be Ferran Torres. He’s slipped further down the pecking order since Vitor Roque joined so he will probably have to accept that he needs to move on in search of regular game time. He is probably one of the few assets that Barca would be actively looking to cash in on, and if they still hold an interest in GLC we could strike a deal that would be mutually beneficial for both clubs. He is the type of versatile and flexible forward that Ange seems to favour, he’s incredibly hard working off the ball, he has good pedigree and is well versed in playing in possession dominant teams, he’s experienced the PL and put up decent numbers at City, and he’s the perfect age and character with something to prove having not quite hit the heights expected of him. Feels like a Werner-like opportunistic signing that Ange would sign off on and commit to doing a confidence building job on. Possibly underwhelming for many, but this guy was billed as the next David Villa not so long ago.

That being said, he doesn’t really fit the explosive dribbler profile. Good option if we move Solomon or Werner on though.

Forster and Solomon out would be surprising - given that we just signed Solomon this season, and Forster just signed an extension - but also could be a clever FFP ploy.

Solomon joined for free, so anything we get from selling him on is a profit.

Forster may only generate £1-2m, but the balance sheet would prefer £2m now than nothing next summer. Alternatively we could keep him until summer '25 and hope that Josh Keeley is ready by that point.

I can't see that being a factor - unless one of the WFs is very young, and one for the future.

Neither Bryan, nor Solomon, feature right now.

Even if you move Son to the striker position (and keep Werner):

???/Werner Son/Richy Kulusevski/Johnson

Then you still have Veliz coming back.

So, If it is just Bryan and Solomon to leave, I can't see room for two more forwards who would expect to get significant minutes.

And, if Richy shows consistent form for the rest of this season, I don't think there will be a rush to move Sonny.
One has to take into consideration the amount of games we will be playing in next season if we get into Europe. If we just had PL then yeah I’d agree, you could sacrifice both of those and not really worry but with PL, CL (hopefully) and the cups I’d expect all our bench players to feature far more regularly then they do currently.

Obviously there is a mention of striker so that could obviously play into it as well as if we did do that then Son would still be predominantly out wide. So then yeah maybe we could move both on with only one incoming.

Which is why we would prefer to keep our interest in him low key. Many clubs have eyes on him and I think there will be a scramble to get him come summer so we might well want to try and move for him quietly in hope we will be able to steal a march on the rest of the pack.

Thing is when looking at the league how many players there would actually be an upgrade. Yes there are exciting players like Yeremy Pino and Kubo but Pino still needs to develop more and Kubo recently extended his contract as has been mentioned. Beyond that, who is there? Felix maybe, Barca won’t be keeping him, but I don’t see it personally and especially not with Porro here and the money involved. There was some talk over last summer that Madrid might have to sacrifice Rodrygo if they sign Mbappe but I think that is very very unlikely considering he’s a regulars starter and even if they did they would want a huge sum. Essentially it’s pipe dream stuff.

Realistically Williams is by far the most logical target and as @djhotspur says we haven’t publicly been linked to him so there’s a good reason why itk might feel they don’t want to put his name out there currently.

Would make sense as he looks very similar to Udogie. Not a starter for Lecce yet tho so would need a lot of patience with him as he’s incredibly raw.
Only on a list mate, don't know the majority of the list, only heard a few names including Dorgu & Neto. Neto unlikely for me, we do have FFP in our favour for getting a deal done early but Wolves know he will be in demand so I highly doubt they sell early, they will want a bidding war.

I’m assuming Neto will cost 60-70 mil and I do wonder who can actually afford that with ffp. I can’t think of a singles European club bar PSG and BM and both won’t be in the market for a RW. So it’s the PL City just bought Savio, Chelsea are F*cked, Utd and Newcastle are also struggling. I guess it could be Liverpool if they sell Salah and Arsenal maybe. Ether way I’m not sure how big the market realistically will be for him but I agree I think it’s very unlikely unless Ange whispers sweet nothings in his ears to the point he only wants us.

Re left back I saw we were loosely linked with Girona’s Gutiérrez, he could certainly also be an interesting option if he doesn’t go back to Madrid who have a buy back option.

I guess the key is though, how many clubs can afford him, need him, and where he would be a starter? Not many clubs in the world have the money to sign him these days, no chance Chelsea could afford him with their issues and they need a striker, Arsenal I have read as being keen but would he even be a starter there, they also need a striker and would they sign two big-name players as they are likely flirting with FFP too, United could be a like option but they have Garnacho and Antony who they would need to sell, but they could be a realistic option but If we have Champions league and they don't and with the good feeling at the club I bet we could be a better destination than them, Liverpool I think would be the biggest competitor to replace Salah sadly, city don't need him, Villa and Newcastle, maybe but again i think we would be better options than them. Abroad, Barca doesn't have the money, Juve couldn't afford him, PSG could be and could be a possible Mbappe replacement I guess, Bayern have countless wingers.

Maybe it is unlikely, but if we have Champions league and the money, surely we can get this done, but not if Liverpool are in for him

We’ve been linked with Arda Guler over the last week, I know you’ve mentioned him before but isn’t he more of central attacking player than winger?

He can play ether AM or RW but yeah probably long term he will be an AM. Although it was actually a performances on the RW for Fenerbahçe in the Europa league that first made me realise how much of a massive prospect he is. Honestly I can't stress enough how much of a talent he looks which Is why I just do not see RM selling him unless there is a reason. Unless of course they are just trying to get as much money as possible together for Mbappe. With Guler tho I could see there being a question mark about physicality in the PL but ether way even with that question mark he's the kind of player you buy and help develop unless hypothetically there are serious concerns over injuries or mentality.

Good player.

Jaden Philogene-Bidace is his full name, from London via Villa's academy.

We have a Blake Philogene-Bidace in our U15s (and England U15).

Hi @Lilywhite Rose any idea if these two are related? Many thanks.
