No one wanted Fati until we were told we were getting him, now everyone's upset. it's the same with literally every transfer.

Personally don't care about Fati but I do care that every year we are told it will be different and each year it isn't. This is just the latest deal to reflect that and why so many are pissed off

A theory: we had a deal that had something like an option in it. Brighton said, how about a straight loan. Barca said “oh yeah that’d work great, cheers” and binned us off.

Not beyond the realms is it.

Some of you guys are absolutely fucking mental.
This thread has had post after post of people complaining that we should consider a loan with no option, or that were even going for the permacrock anyway.
Now that it appears he is instead going to Brighton the thread is now up on arms and ready to burn Levy to the ground.
Honestly, this place is bi polar

Yeah pretty much everyone thought it was too much of a risk due to his injury and that he didn’t really fit anyway.

I’d started to come round to the idea of a punt, if it were a loan, but I’m not bothered this isn’t happening.

It’s embarrassing to be gazumped by Brighton though.

We don't need Fati, we have our own 20 year old Spaniard who plays in the same position, we should give Santiago some chances this season. We might have to.

Don't worry guys, remember the media are two weeks behind the ITKS, right?

RIGHT?
Appreciate all the info for what it is. Good intentions etc etc.

Salt and all that.

But I don't think we've had a summer where the ITK has been so 'miss' that 'hit'.

Then we shouldn’t be leaving things this late in the window.

IF the loan with no option is an issue surely we would know this long ago? There is no way any well run football club would allow themselves to get into this position time after time.

Either the club is so badly run it does not do its due diligence or we really are completely run by a chancer trying to buy assets at below market rates.

My money’s on both.
Yep, Levy does get some good deals but he seems to mess up far more.
I wouldn’t mind so much if this were an isolated incident but it’s practically every window.

WLB's last post does read like Levy said no at the last minute after a whole day of negotiations, essentially setting fire to a lot of people's good work.

So we walk away, what's the backup plan? Just leave Ange short I guess...
Only have 3 left wingers instead of 4? Gonna be a struggle given all the competitions we're in...

But seriously, ignoring the Fati nonsense we do badly need to sign a right forward and a CB or we've fucked it.
