I am getting a bit sick of the premier league no matter who we play we seem to have lots of nasty challenges on our players and the other team seem to get away with it. We are starting to run out of midfielders because every match there is horrific challenges you do not know how many times when i've winced and prayed that bale would get up when someone has just gone for his legs not even an attempt on the ball. Then there is the synical counter attack fouls which other teams when we play them seem to get away with but as soon as vdv does the ref is quick to reach for a card. The matches against Liverpool and Chelsea both amazed me how did carragher and essien both last the 90 minutes. The other thing that irritates me is how we are the only team I've seen booked for diving or arguing with the officials when teams like united and chelsea do these things week in week out. We complain about Fifa being corrupt but we need to sought our own game out first because referee's in this country are meant to be impartial and they are to often scared to make decisions against the Sky 4.

Pace, directness and penetration will always force the opposition to foul.

Just the way it is.

I'd rather it was like this than the other way around.

Use paragraphs man !!!

I agree there were too many cynical fouls yesterday and not enough yellows from the ref.

Tbh if we play Barcelona in the CL and our players take turns fouling Messi and he doesn't score as a result, would we be moaning? It is up to the referee to ensure players can play, but physical intimidation has also been a tactic used against pace an skill.

I didn't see Essien mentioned much yesterday, but he should have been sent off. He had at least three challenges which were all worthy yellows and only ended up with 1. I had my heart in my mouth after his first tackle on Gaz, I thought it was a leg breaker.

It was a leg breaker and he knew it, I'm still not sure how Bale came out of it with two good legs.

Palacious was a victim of some very cynical fouls, where had he committed them, as history has shown, the refs would have red carded him.

People need to get used to it as with the speed in which we break this is going to start happening a lot, especially on Lennon and Bale.

Teams fear us now, they're going to come to The Lane and take early opportunities to kick our creative players, it's just the way it is.

To be fair, a couple of challenges from us in the first half, from Benny and Hutton, were for the want of a better expression "fully committed".

The Hutton one, in fairness, was almost at a right angle. It was fully committed, but he almost went in with his shins, I don't think it was going to do much damage. He also completely got the ball. Essien went in studs up.

Agree, it highlights how much the team has developed, we have a lot more team spirit in the side.

Did Ashley Cole not completely do Palacios over in the corner towards the end as well? It looked like he was nowhere near the ball and never intended to be. He then went back up the pitch and Lampard shook his hand.

Obviously as Spurs fans we hate Chelsea anyway but I genuinely think they have the nastiest bunch of ****s in the league.

Still though Pav got Essien back for the Bale tackle.

To me, but I have my rose tinted Spurs specks on, that after Terry had a 'word' in the ref's ear in the 1st half he was more lenient towards them....

Similar at Utd when our lot were told to go away after the Nani goal but Ferdinand could 'join' in the convo. But Modric got booked for asking a question.

I think it is great that other teams feel the need to play dirty against us, it shows that they know we can outplay them. Yesterday though I felt we just could've get going at all, we put in some decent crosses but there was no forward movement. It was the ideal game for VDV as I felt he couldn't exploited a weak and slow Chelsea defence.

Still, we have to move on to the next game now, we got a point, we looked better at the back (besides Gomes) and we have to continue into the next game.

well then the refs need to start protecting our star players from this sort of shit before they're all fecked

Harry needs to come out in the media and blast the teams and refs like Fergie does and tell them we need protection as we're just getting deliberately kicked all over the place. Bale gets chopped down 4 or 5 times a game these days and the ref usually does fuck all about it

I'm sick of watching this shit all the time and the ponce fucking refs in England doing sweet fuck all while we pick up injury after injury :bang:

sometimes I think we'd be better off playing in la liga were our style would flourish more and our stars would be protected better by refs from bully boy thugs

Yes that tackle(well it wasn't one really) he just went straight down the back of Palacios's calf, should have been probably a red card and i doubt what anyone could have said to justify what Cole did.

Drogba was also late on Hutton and again that was just as wreckless and could have quite easily done damage to Hutton. Essien was also very lucky and while that stupid fat useless scotch fuck "Andy Gray" was pissing in his pants about Hutton and a two footed tackle, was it balls.

It is bad but you have to adapt. Which is why I love Hutton, Palacios and BAE when it comes to getting stuck in.

You can accuse us of the opposite yesterday what with Bale and Modrics borderline simulation about 6 times between them..

We need a tougher center, which is why I want one up front

------------New striker-----------
------Bale--Modric----VDV-------
-------Kaboul---Palacios---------
BAE----King---Gallas------Corky

Kaboul being a sweeper.
