Arsenal saying Theo walcot will be fit soon to give the fans something to feel good about.( I think thats a sign that Arshavin is a goner not a gooner ).

Think Harry should drive to that airport and pick Arshavin up himself (ala red-nose picking up Berbs on summer deadline day).

If Levy turns to HR and says 'who do u want keane or AA, its obvious he will say keane as he is the proven PL player... imo they are too similar to justify signing both

I think Arsenal have seen or heard that we're ready to swoop, realised they cannot allow that to happen and have gone back with improved terms.

They would have known about that for weeks mate, months actually.

If I were Arsenal I'd pretend to have failed to agree the deal and take Zenit to the last minute so that they waive that 3m for Arshavin rather than cost themselves long term.

For what it's worth.

From Setanta:

Zenit St Petersburg appear confident that a deal will still be struck to sell Andrei Arshavin to Arsenal on transfer deadline day, despite suggestions that the Russia international is leaving London.
Arshavin flew into the English capital on Sunday night to be greeted by heavy snowfall more fitting of his home country and reports have claimed that his tortuous transfer is now on ice with the player heading back to the airport to return to Russia.
The Gunners have been locked in talks with Zenit for much of the January transfer window though and it appears that discussions are still ongoing as the 5pm deadline, which may yet be extended, looms.
Zenit general director Maxim Mitrofanov expects the two clubs to come to an agreement – despite reports that talks had collapsed - but was less certain about whether Arshavin would accept the wages on offer and move to Emirates Stadium.
“Negotiations are still ongoing, to a greater extent on the level of the board of directors of Arsenal,” Mitrofanov told Radio Zenit.
“Occasionally the Londoners come to us to clarify some details.
“It is our belief that the chances Arsenal will come to an agreement on the purchase of Arshavin is very high.
“But as we have stated before, to acquire the player two conditions need to be respected: The transfer will cost at least £15 million and the fulfilment of the financial obligations from both player and club to Zenit.
“Only by meeting these two components can he move and if Arsenal are fairly close to approving the transaction, it is difficult to say the same about the player.”
