Apparently Dalot has been told he's been made available for transfer, surely Jose would be more interested in him having brought him to Utd. Always thought he was a decent enough RB being honest.
Saw a stat saying Dalot had only created 5 fewer chances from open play than Wan-Bissaka dispite playing 2500 fewer minutes this season. Talking about a player like Maitland-Niles doing a “Gnabry” at a different club. Well I do think Dalot has more potential to explode at a different club that has more belief in him. He’s an incredibly dynamic fullback. Defensively there’s a question mark over him but at 21 and working under Mourinho that would come. Also if given a role similar to Aurier’s this season that could be accounted for. Do hope we have a go for him if he is up for sale.

Guendouzi was brought start of last season maybe year before
Torriea was signed after the World Cup it’s not as if they have brought them through the youth system they have both been flops really but would probably excel in other leagues!
Right, but this is also a side who got ~30m for Iwobi just a year before. And buying cheap players younger than 20 from abroad and home is not a bad strategy either: Chelsea and City deputize it to large financial gain. It is slightly scummy to buy players to immediately loan them out, but it pays - and it pays other clubs, not us.

To be fair we've got the following academy players in the squad:
Kane
Skipp
Winks
Tanganga
Parrott
We could sell them and make a few quid. It's much better if they're good enough to play though as you don't need to pay for their replacements.

We've also got a few players that we bought at a young age that we could sell:
Dele
Dier
Foyth
Sessegnon
Clarke

We also bought Bale and Walker at young ages and sold them for record fees. We've also had decent fees for the likes of KWP, Bentaleb, Mason, Townsend, and Pritchard over the last five years. And the loan rules are changing soon so clubs won't be able to just hoard players.

Herc’s ITK on this suggests something that ‘could make it interesting’. You can only imagine that’s some form of swap. The only two candidates to my mind are Foyth or Sessegnon. Neither have flourished with us to-date and don’t seem ideal José players. That said, swapping either (particularly Sess) would be a big risk for a player that’s not an obvious fit for the big roles we need to fill.

Highly doubt we'd swap Sess as we'd be taking a loss. We won't do that after only a year.

I imagine it's something stupid Like Arsenal now get first dibs on Edwards.

Think I'd completely lose my shit if we swapped Sessegnon or Foyth for Maitland-Niles.

So, if he comes he's be the first player transferred between us and arsenal for a fee, since Willie Young went the other way in the 70's from what I can work out!

Don't see why we's want him, he seems to be a jack of all trades and a master of none, as my grandad used to say! seems an odd potentially unpopular transfer just to boots hg numbers.

Interesting might mean a loan deal, not sure if anyone has mentioned it? It could be a loan to buy and we loan them one of ours (Foyth or Sess)? Farting in the wind really.

Transfers between the clubs are as rare as rocking horse shit so IF this happens I can't see that suddenly there'd be a free for all with players going the other way etc etc

Again, IF this happens they will extract the best deal they can out of us, simply because it is us, which means Rumpelstiltskin isn't going to play and for that reason alone it's an unlikely transfer.

But stranger things have happened in football, as we all know, never say never.

I think in this case, we can say never.

IMO Covid 19 has most likely changed the parameters on these types of deal. We've just done something similar with Southampton. However it pans out, I hope we don't fork out for yet another CM who has played a few games quite poorly at FB. Just buy a proper FB and leave CM alone.

I doubt they'll sell to us. They are probably stewing over the time we took sweet revenge on them for signing Campbell, by plucking Rohan Ricketts from under their noses! They'll never forgive us for that one, so we should forget Maitland-Niles.

Not really focussed on him when he played but I thought he was a winger when he played in the FA CUP against City. He looked pretty good at breaking the City lines in that game but I haven't seen enough of him to have an opinion. As everyone in this thread said it would be very strange to see us sign someone from Arsenal but if we could get behind Willie G I'm sure we could support him.
