I'm not sure Kane and Son can play together now that Son can't run any longer.

Soft goal against, nothing created going forward.
I feel he still could. Son used to play on the shoulder of the defender and could turn and run at goal, whereas nowadays he's having to turn into 3-4 players because we're/he's so deep.

Breaking from deep with such predictable tactics in literally every single game makes it easy for the opponent to know exactly where Son, Kane and Kulu will look to receive the ball and which space they'll be running into. It's why without a clever player to unlock the opponents we'll continue to see Kane and Son be tackled as soon as they get the ball. Often by 2-4 players each time. It's that predictable.

Yeah he put on a bit of a masterclass in the dark arts of isolated centre forward play. Won so many clever free kicks and kept possession when he had zero right to. Didn't offer much in front of goal but was still one of our best players tonight.
? he’s was brilliant, he had no service and as you say did the best isolated forward and hold up play he could do, must be pretty souldestroying having to play like that so often.

Doing nothing is accepting it. We need to force ENIC out. Make every game a fucking nightmare for Levy to show his face. How many managers has be burned through now ffs?? Yet people still think changing Conte will be the answer. Fucking wise up.

I would love nothing more than fans forcing Levy out & protesting. I’m just being realistic.

The best thing Conte can do is walk, because the longer he keeps this up, people will forget about the boards shortcomings.

Either way, BOTH Conte & the board need to go.

The better team ?. We were shit, they were shitter, I suppose that does make us the better team though.
I seriously wonder if people actually watch the game or, just see the result and fill in the blanks. Second half and much of the first, we were the better side. I mean, we weren't perfect, but it was a decent display. Especially considering the injuries and the season we've had. In the end, I'm dissapointed we never got a couple. That's a big compliment playing on their patch.

They let us win possession in positions where our players are outnumbered. When a defender gets the ball he has eleven players in front of him. When our midfielders get the ball they have 8-9-10 players in front of them - and they are usually facing their own goal. When the attackers get the ball they have 5-6 players in front of them, and also facing their own goal. Kane has the same, including 2 players closing him down. It's like we are trying to force our way through. That is not working.

Rio wanted urgency. We are far from it. Are we trying to bore the hell out of our opponents and make them fall asleep so that we can have an easy tap in?

We could have gone on for hours, and still not score on a very mediocre Milan team.

Uninspiring, laboured and lacking in any real direction. I know we have some injuries, but after this performance against the worst team you're ever likely to face in this stage of the Champions League, how can anyone still defend the belief that this chancer is a top class manager. I know it's a two legged tie, but that was pure shite. If we manage to get through this round we're getting embarrassed in the last 16 against a decent team.

SAS in midfield were the highlights. Emerson and Kane battled. Everyone else can get in the sea. Turgid, negative football from a bloke who looks as disinterested as most of the players.

Even if Conte gets the two centre backs of his choice on the Summer, and Benatacour returns for pre-season, I simply can't see us playing any better.
Yeah I think the problems run a lot deeper than a couple of CBs.

Sure 2 top class CBs would improve us a defensive unit and make us more comfortable in possession, but that's not going to magically fix our complete lack of ideas in the other two thirds of the pitch.

While he's a pretty average defender, Lenglet is actually very decent on the ball by CB standards, as is Romero. And yet that's had little to no impact on our ability to function as a coherent team in possession or show any kind of attacking philosophy.

Better CBs will make us harder to beat but the team will still be rife with problems if we persist with this system and don't instantly sign like the perfect 5 world class players that Conte needs (and tbh at this point I'm not sure that would work either).

We controlled the game, Our midfield were very good. Our front 3 have had better games, and we found it hard to create . But we should have scored at least one - there were 2 headers that should have gone in, and son should have scored. So we were not totally shit, and yes we were the better team and we really should have at least got a draw.

Sack Conte and what do we win? Fuck all under another 10 different managers. Fucks sake guys it’s not the fucking managers that are our problem. Seriously.

I’ve backed him long enough (we know about levy ffs). When he refuses to change anything in game when what we are doing isn’t working and does it match after match then he has to take the criticism. Poor subs too again.

I'ts not just his fault, but he should take some responsibility for the way the season is going. It's his fault, the players and the board. A 'world class elite' manager should be doing a whole lot better with this squad. We've got a lot of dross, but bloody hell, we have some top quality players as well and should be doing better, generally.

we weren’t the better team. They let us have the ball in areas which posed them no danger.

Well, it also is. We’re in a shocking position with a manager who won’t commit and seemingly can’t coach without being handed ready-made players in every position. But that’s not his fault. That’s how he operates, and very successfully.

The manager is the short-term problem because he’s at the wrong club. And that leads back to one man.

No its the chairman hiring the wrong managers and buying the wrong players or even worse not buying anyone for 2 windows.

Still we are stuck with a manager that plays shite football and isn't getting results while boring us to death. He won't sign a new deal and so looks like he's off in the summer. So we need a new manager.

Conte thinks that was a ‘high intensity’ performance… Christ, we barely got out of first gear.
