Somehow, this goal has avoided my eyes until now. Happened about two years after I started supporting the club. The build up play is simply sublime !

I was there in East stand with then girlfriend - 91

Says 92 on clip but thought it was 91/92 season ? Cup winners for winning FA cup. We went out to Feynord and again went to both games (P Allen shit back pass sent us out)and thought that was 92?

I stand corrected

Thanks for this. Growing up this was one of my favourite Spurs goals but it never seemed to get mentioned by anyone else when they were talking about great Spurs or even great Lineker goals. I could never remember the details only that we had played an amazing string of passes with Lineker getting a tap in, almost, at the end of the move. I thought it was against Norwich for some reason but clearly I was wrong or perhaps Lineker scored a similar goal.

No probs it was quite the find for me as well. Both finishes are so Lineker - cute, smart, controlled and composed. The actual finish itself on the first is better than it first looks I think

Ah... the days when we used to have one of the best strikers in the world at our club. I remember this game, I was 13!!

I can't see the clip for some reason but if it's the Porto goal it was voted goal of the season that year. I don't know think they separated league and cup back then regarding goal of the season and I'm pretty certain that goal won it. The build up was cock stiffening.

I remember the game well, my first game on my lonesome.
me a skinny little asian kid standing next to a skinhead, green bomber jacket, DM boots and a swastika tattooed onto his forehead. Got chatting to him, and he seemed a decent bloke.
Anyway, what a passing move that was, and even Pat van Den Hauwe got involved with a couple of 1 touch passes.
What we wouldn't give for a striker with his movement and cleverness in front of goal now.....

Funny to think there must be a generation of kids who see Linneker as the old bloke on MOTD when he was a world class striker, personally I don't think there's one as good playing in the prem now.
I was there too, cracking goal.

Yep, was there as well, standing right side Paxton Road.

I used to wear a, quite frankly, hideous blue and luminous green ski jacket to games but it did mean I could sometimes spot myself on telly when I got home to watch the highlights.

Goal against Porto is perhaps my favourite ever Spurs goal.
It's not just a Lineker goal, it's a team goal.

Most were looking at Feyenoord as a fairly easy opponent we should beat,
especially since we had the most deadly striker in the world.
Then comes this hairy wolf and man mark the shit out of Lineker, he was superb that day.

The good olde days when we had a world class striker. probably one of Garys more dramatic goal, he just had that uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time.
