I am not sure if this video has been posted in the past, if it has apologies for the repost. This final has always intrigued me, we won it as a non-league club and growing up in the 70s & 80s and obviously not having the internet back then I had very little to go on. What I learned back then was the massive discrepancy between the final and the reply. The first game got a massive attendance of 110,820 with the replay getting only 20,470. I have added a Wikipedia link for those interested in reading about the game. Again apologies if this has been covered in the past.

a bit before my time. But we stuffed the invicibles along the way (nothing new in that!!) . Good thing VAR didnt exist ,sandy tait handballed it on the line against Reading. saving us. In the final, VAR was in play only after the final, in that we got done by a goal that shouldnt have stood. But its on film someplace. We stuffed them in the replay, and sandy brown became a legend by scoring in every round of the cup. Show me someone else who could score 15 goals in a cup? Kane maybe? Not bad for an amateur team.
Much like our run to the champions league final this year.... Just like 1901 you can bet on VAR being a factor.

Oh something else that is long forgotten. Football in those days was a scottish, or northern thing. OK so we had a team loaded with northerners but that was the way it was then. The dominance of northern teams cant be understated back then.

Although we were still a few years from joining the Football League, we were not an amateur club at the time. The club became professional in December 1895.

What struck me?
They hardly move, they all seem to be rooted to the grass looking at the ball waiting for it.
Looks like the keeper is wearing outfield player colours?
I bet they were all terribly polite.
