Still, I'm curious what methodology scouts and other talent evaluators use to project the ceiling of young players such as Bergvall. Yes, he looks great against the Swedish top-flight as a 17-year-old. But he wouldn't look that good if he were playing against PL players. So how do we know that he will continue to improve to the point that he will look this good in the PL ? Is it just his age? Or are there other factors? It looks like he has great vision and a mature work ethic, and strong family support, which are all plusses. But what about physical characteristics? How do scouts assess whether a young player will continue to grow faster and stronger, and is not already close to their natural peak?

Signings from the Swedish league to the bigger clubs in the Premier League are very rare.

The below shows dribbles per 90 for players in his position.

This is not normal for a 17 year old kid.

The purchases of Sarr, VDV, Udogie, Dragusin, Vuskovic, Veliz and now Bergvall really show the benefits of having had global superstar players like Bale, Kane and Son in recent years. Those three in particular raised our profile so much, and for many of these young wonderkids, they put Spurs on the map as a viable destination in the Prem to rival any other club. Massive credit to the club on these recruitments, very exciting times ahead.
Don't forget Veliz. He should be there too

Really reminds me of the Modric signing, getting in there ahead of a few big clubs and being announced a few months before the transfer window opened, think it was May/April. I remember tuning in to the Croatia games during Euro 2008 to watch him before he played his first game for us.

His highlights videos portray a sort of ‘break the press’ type of midfielder. If he develops physically could he be a bit of a Dembele-esque player?
I hope not. This guy looks capable of goals and assists, something Dembele struggled with and if anyone doesn’t believe me, feel free to check. As fine a player as he was, how Dembele got such a cult status on SC continues to baffle me :D
