I am a bit confused, is he signed now and then going back on loan until the summer?
As I understand it he is still registered to his Swedish club as we signed him after the window closed but the contract is signed, sealed and delivered so it's complete and we take the registration in the summer window.
That's the only sense I can make of it.

Windows closed so has to be signed from June when the next window opens. Just unfortunate timing his 18th Birthday came a day after deadline.
It's actually something we rarely ever do, Barca do it all the time (Roque for example was announced before the season but arrived in January).

From the sporting director of Djurgården (will link the entire article for those of you who understand Swedish):

"We got to work in peace with Tottenham. It took quite a while for you (the media) to pick up on it, and they (Tottenham) were quite impressed by it. Then it's no secret that Lucas has been traveling around this week, and so the choice fell on Tottenham yesterday. It's nice when you've had good discussions that it's the family that has steered and made the decision based on what they think is best, not us. That's the beauty of this."

Seems like a level headed family, that's for sure

Love that he wishes Ange and Emerson good luck at Everton tomorrow. I like that mindful attitude.

I'm confused too. The Swedish league runs from March to November. Not sure how it makes sense for him to leave in the middle of their season when he can just leave them now.
Think it's to do with rules regarding English clubs signing U-18 players on professional contracts from abroad rather than anything else.

His birthday falling a day after this window shut means he can only officially transfer to us in the next one.

I thought the same thing 😂

And Ange did agree to pay for him...that couple hand slaps were...:blackeye:

But he's happy...wait is he from Stockholm? Heard there's a syndrome of sorts...

Okay of course very happy to see him, just that's such a cringe meeting.
