This has been repeated a thousand times WE ARE IN NEXT SEASON's CL................unless we lose to Everton and Woolich win at Burnley and Woolich make up an 8 goal difference.

This was not a matter of info which came out in this thread today, it has been repeated countless time before. It seems that you have been away from SC for several weeks then.

So can someone just confirm that unless we bottle our +8 goal difference in the last round we are 100% in CL next year? And still if arsenal were to win the europa league?
Depends on the Brexit negotiations between Labour/Tories. Apparently Corbyn wants a rule change to allow 5th place + Europa to trump 4th place before he accepts the Withdrawal Agreement.

Funny the amount of posts that were saying that we won't get top 4 after yesterday :D
To be fair - I don't think many people envisioned United not getting a win a relegated Huddersfield, nor Arsenal not picking up 3 points against Brighton - who were just saved from relegation on Saturday.

That's not correct. England is one of three nations where five teams can qualify for the Champion's League, specifically where an English team doesn't finish top four and then wins a European trophy.

The only scenario in which 4th is not good enough for Champion's League is where two English teams win both European trophies and both finish outside of the top four in the same season.
Manchester United under Mourhino two seasons ago is a case in point. They finished outside the top 4 but won the European Cup, so we had 5 in the CL the next season.
Seriously, we need to address the squad issues this summer big time, as we'll not get away with it next season.
Certain things go without saying Pinky! I cannot believe that there is a Spurs fan on this earth who does not believe this. Lets hope the Management does

Have just finished laughing at the pissed off looking Arsenal players on TV. That was nice. But this feels really weird. We've got back into the top four by default of being less shit than the others. Three defeats in our last four games, only 10 points from our last 11 games (relegation form) and yet we were up against a team who took just four points from six (Arsenal) and eight points from eight (Man Utd). It's hardly like when Crouch scored at the Etihad.

Just think back to the 12/13 season run in - we were unbeaten in our final 8 games, continually grinding out late wins and finishing on what was then a club PL record 72 points and a figure that no team had ever finished lower than 4th with, but Arsenal somehow won 8 and drew 2 of their final 10 and managed to finish one above us on the final day. Funny how things work out.
I was at the Etihad for that Crouchy goal. You just brought back some great memories!

The goal has to be to beat Everton now and hopefully beat Chelsea to 3rd

The goal imo now is throw everything at Wednesday night and if we get through wrap anyone important in cotton wool for the final imo. Imagine getting an injury to Sissokko, Toby or erisen on that game to add to our other issues

Never forget that we had 60 points on February 10th

We've gained 10 points since then in 3 months and still finished top 4, amazing.
First half of the season = Title winning form
Second half of the season = Huddersfield form

Oh my God! After yesterday's shit show I completely isolated myself from football! I've literally just accidentally seen the arsenal result, then the utd result! We've done it!

I cannot believe it!

100% this! Why would we go tentatively into a semi final we need to win?

I was so angry with us yesterday because my thought process was to get top 4 sealed and throw everything at the Ajax game.

What a difference 24 hours makes :ROFLMAO:
