If I was guessing at this early stage:

In: Andersen, Gomes, Grealish, Sessegnon, Mitrovic, GK3

Out: Toby, Eriksen, Vorm, Llorente, Janssen, Wanyama, N'koudou

I know such turnover goes against the grain of recent years, but I can't see how we avoid it this summer, given Vorm & Llorente out of contract, Toby almost certain to go, Eriksen quite possibly too. And above is without even upgrading at RB.

Gomes, Grealish, Sessegnon + a right back would be excellent additions to the current squad and for me, an outstanding summer window. What makes me worry is if we lose Eriksen, we aren’t sufficiently replacing him or adding enough creativity/graft to change the way we play or adequately compensate for the loss. We’d need somebody who could change the game with one shot or one pass - Grealish COULD be that guy as he has proven for Villa but until he proves it in the Prem and in Europe then it doesn’t cover my concerns.

I think signing grealish is dependent on villa not winning playoffs and then after if we are willing to pay the expected high transfer fee for him. Gomes although a good passer seems slow and i think we need the opposite?

Im still not a Gomes fan and still don't want him at our club. Granted he has been better for Everton then I was expecting him to be but I find him far to slow for me. Out of the two on loan CMs in the PL I would pick Yuri T any day without even a shadow of doubt. He is the better player and has far more potential. If it's true that Poch doesn't rate Yuri and does Gomes then I really worry about our transfer activity in general over the summer.

Just a question in general, but when was the last time Yuri was mentioned by ITK? I know during the Jan window it was said that Poch didn't rate him but maybe his stance has changed given the performances Tielemans has put in for Leicester?

I can think of few more depressing signings than Gomes. Even Everton are a far better side when he isn't in the team. Check their results if you don't believe me.

I want Eriksen to sign a new deal 100%.
IF he ends up deciding to move to Spain, a deal where either Coutinho or Isco goes the other way would be mooted....but I'm not sure if that is the right move. I suspect I'd rather we spend the money on Grealish and Brooks....recognizing that they may take a little while to get to their top level but might be a better fit in our group
I think Grealish all depends on whether villa get promoted, if they don’t I think we’ll get him and if they do he’ll stay

About a week ago JJ reiterated that Poch doesn’t rate Tielemans OR Maddison.

I don’t understand where this Mitrovic chat comes from.

I don’t think he has the ability or temperament to fit into our current squad. He’s only happy when he’s the main man and even then he blows so hot and cold.

He might be a slight upgrade on Llorente but who wouldn’t be. We should be aiming much higher and for a more dynamic forward.

Still doesn't surprise me.

People need to look at what Poch values as a central mid.

Playing fantasy 'who do we buy' is one thing, lining up the sort of player is something else.

Gomes and Grealish are the types of player we need to bolster our central midfield; they can both keep the ball in tight spaces or play out of the press. Grealish seems like he has character and heart. Neither are game changers that will help us catch City or Liverpool but I think either would be a big boost in cementing top 4 next season.

From what I've seen of Tielemans, he's a more mobile version of Hudd but without looking at stats, not mobile enough for Poch.

I think Grealish would be a great signing, but I think it's out of our hands until after the playoffs. Much like Sessegnon last season, if they go up I'd be very surprised if he leaves, if they miss out I'd say we'll get him.

I'd be surprised if we were in for Gomes; he was available last summer and Poch et al weren't interested.
If i remember correctly, Gomes spent the majority of the summer injured and arrived at Everton with said injury. Its pretty clear that we tend to avoid players who have had serious injuries in their career or carry an injury. Also explains why we passed on Barkley in January.
