People keep listing players we should offload because of their injury record.

Who do you think is going to give Wanyama a contract? By all accounts he’s completely broken. Lamela can’t string more than five or six games together without an injury, so again, who’s going to take the risk?

We haven’t been able to offload seemingly fit players for the last three or four years, and have had the likes of Jansen, and GKN hanging around not playing.

It’s not as simple as putting someone on the transfer list and hoping Sunderland or Stoke take a punt these days.
We've been unable to shift some of the players due to our owners unrealistic valuations of them.

Still absolutely mental not to go for that loan given our (crocked) options in CM.
I agree but Poch doesn't like loans as it usually takes a player 1/2 a season to a season to adapt to his system.

I think Poch is too rigid sometimes as this should have been an exception.

Saying that, it sounds like Monaco wanted to loan Silva from Leicester, so may have just strung us along as a back up anyway.

Probably at first. But I doubt we would have wanted a lot for Jansen in the winter window. People just don’t want to buy rubbish, or permacrocked players.

Would you take a punt on Lamela? Or Wanyama? I’d think twice even if they were free. Players earn so much these days that clubs need to get their money’s worth. Giving someone with an injury record like Wanyama a two year contract when potentially you will see no return is crazy business.

It’s just not realistic to expect us to be able to easily offload these guys.

"Tielemans was offered to Spurs in January." Now that is one deeply depressing sentence. Would have done us so good to have him available these past months.

Also, what has happened to the Rabiot links? He must be up for sale this summer. I'm kind of fed up going for PSGs outcasts but I feel like he would easily be the best out of Moura/Aurier if we signed him.

Not a sale. Rabiot is a free transfer this summmer, correct?

Could they even pass a medical? I doubt it.

Precisely. Haven’t we had itk that Wanyama won’t pass a medical?

I’m actually quite surprised that he’s been managing to play so many games lately, it’s been good to see him back, and especially that he got a goal against Huddersfield. If we can manage his injury, maybe he can still be useful for us at times. I’m not going to hold my breath though.

I don't see Vic going anywhere precisely because he won't pass a medical. He's been pressed into action now because we have absolutely no choice and tbh, I've been pleasantly surprised that he's managed any sort of performance at all. I doubt we'd get much interest in Lamela either. His ratio of wages to playing time must be horrendous.

JJ has said on many occasions Rabiot isn't happening.

Here's that Matt Law article:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...io-pochettino-work-transfer-miracles-smaller/

Kind of depressing. If he's been briefed by someone at the club that there won't be more than three signings, and that it will be evolution rather than revolution (Donna Cullen watches Alan Partridge?) then we're in real trouble because this squad needs major surgery.
Since when has Matt Law ever had an inside line at Spurs?

Fucking hell, he could write that the squad are on a new diet of shit for breakfast and people would hedge their bets if it held truth or not.

One of the same writers that told us Poch to United was nailed on. You're just giving them clicks.

To be fair not too upset by the 4 targets.

Andre Gomes - looks pretty decent
Atal - my first choice RB
Sessegnon - good potential
Grealish - good potential

My issue is I think we need a whole lot more than that quartet.

Agreed, a bit depressing. Dampening expectations ahead of the window.

Atal as a RB I'd welcome. Gomes - perhaps, but not as a lone CM signing. Inadequate. We need at least 2 CM's.

Yeah RB is fine, Gomes as competition for Winks is fine but need a proper DM, Grealish as competition for Dele but we need a replacement for Eriksen if he goes. Sessegnon good prospect. We likely need another player along the front 3 like Bowen who can play like Son does. The four isn't enough.

They're not bad targets for sure, but if Eriksen and Toby are going it's nuts that we may only get three in. Seems there's not realisation from the club what the failure in the window has done to the squad. It's older, the legs are getting heavier, and the workload has been running players into the ground.

Has anyone here seriously never bought a house/flat/car/company? Now I'm not saying we're going to spend big but the first rule of negotiation is that you never let anyone know that you've got a huge wedge burning a hole in your pocket.

Especially not to a keyboard jockey with a megaphone.

Agreed.
RB - Atal
DM - Berge?
CM - Gomes? or Tielemans? (Ndombele a pipe dream, sadly)
AM - Grealish
Probably £110m just for that lot above.
And if any funds left over (LOL), a young wing/forward prospect.

Yeah I have Havertz in my pipe dream position for AM also but apart from that, that was the list I had along with Bowen for young forward and Andersen for Alder replacement.
