I think they'll bring Eriksen back in...probably for Mount.

Just a hunch.

We'll have way more space.

Fancy Richarlison to finally make a big impact.

3-2 win.
Same!

This game is made for him.

Id love a 3-2 win with Maddison 3 assists and Rashford double for my fpl team 😅

This is a bit of a free hit game really, so early in Ange’s tenure.

Play well and win or draw amazing, have a go and lose will be a bit disappointing but there will be no shame in it.

Even though Anthony been average overall for United, I think he will give a good test to both Udoge & VDV. I am looking forward to how Udogie will do well in defensive situations.

Without wanting to be too negative. I don’t see it as a free hit. If we struggle to create chances like we did last week, or Richarlison misses a handful of sitters then it‘ll begin a narrative of the team being unable to cope without Kane.

The defence isn’t finished yet, so of course the team deserves a little slack. But losing by three or four goals would be a huge blow to confidence.

We have to show we can remain competitive. Performance will be more important than the result, but like I say we can’t afford to take a hammering.

Last time we played United at home in April, our XI was

Forster
Romero , Dier, Lenglet
Porro Skipp Hojbjerg Perisic
Son Kane Richy

We will probably go with

Vicario
Emerson Romero VDV Udogie
Bissouma Skipp Maddison
Kulu Richy Son

Potentially 7 changes to that game. Last time it was lethargic, archaic and lost football
I hope we turn it on United and give them a game to remember

Set-pieces are a good shout.

I must admit that I was very confused when we suddenly started conceding a few goals from set pieces on pre-season.

That hasn't happened to us with any regularity for a while.

Then I found out Gianni Vio is gone. Which seems like an insane decision to me.

Unless Vio left under his own devices.

Still. It could prove to be a huge loss.

We were utter dross at set pieces for years until Vio came in.
Pretty sure it was confirmed a while back that Vio was purely coaching attacking set piece routines and had nothing to do with the defence, fwiw.

Both sides left huge gaps last week, their's were in midfield whilst ours were at the back. They are a better team than us though and expect them to punish us more than Brentford were capable of doing so last week. But patience is required, as long as we see progress of Ange's plan I'll be content.

Whatever the outcome, the performance will be where to judge us on for sure. I just hope that the stadium really gets up for this one from the outset and set a proper tone for the first 10-15mins. First home game, new manager, a lot of new players...no excuse to not set up the right kind of atmosphere that we can prosper from and really whip the team up, and give Ange the right welcome.

United looked utter shit the other night with their backs against the walls to a crap Wolves side. Hopefully we can pen them in deep for a good spell early on and put the shits up them.

We’re more open at the back and vulnerable to a counter than we have ever been in the club’s history.

this is just a fact.

I am terrified by Rashford Antony Bruno and their forwards. They can score out of absolutely nothing, one misplaced pass and they’re away. We will need to be as sharp as possible.

The interesting thing for me from week to week is the balance. So may positives but did think we got cut open with the one ball too easily a few times and that right hand side appeared to be more open than we'll be able to afford going forward.

Get that right and I think we can go into each game with a level of confidence that our positive football can see us through to a good result. Of course the balance up front was off too, but hopefully being a home game tomorrow can help things flow a little better in that department.

Agree. This isn't a make or break game, but not a free hit either. A hammering would set a dangerous tone, just like a series of narrow defeats will. Everyone is keen for patience, but good footy and only a handful of points after 8 games will put the manager under pressure. Levy has consistently tossed managers when 4th place look unlikely. I doubt he changes for Ange.

Also, a statement win would really buy some breathing space, along with confidence to stay on the front foot.

I am incredibly nervous about Rashford and his pace for this fixture considering how open we were on the counter against Brentford. I could see us bossing the game but being hit on the break a few times and losing. Will be interesting to see if Ange alters the tactics at all to protect our backline more.

United have issues Mason greenwood and the takeover. I actually think United is worse run than spurs currently!

Let’s hope we win!
Apparently mount and fernandes don't work in midfield (I didn't watch the game) and they should have lost to wolves.
You would have thought ten haag could figure that out, but something to watch.

Looking forward to it.(y)

Kinda nervous about this, Wolves absolutely battered United on Monday, and were unlucky to get nothing from the game. I don’t doubt our ability going forward but they will try and hit us in the break and that will worry me with the speed of Rashford and Sancho.

Need a big game from Vicario, he was poor against Brentford.

First of the season for me and looking forward to seeing a different Tottenham than we've had for the last four years. I have absolutely no faith that we'll beat them at all, I don't mean I think we'll lose but we're miles away from a finished article so any result is a positive.

How are we more vulnerable to a counter attack than we have ever been in the clubs history? Explain how you have got to that statement, based on 1 competitive game?

The only one of those 3 I am worried about is rashford.
