This ‘do a Leeds’ rhetoric is tired and boring.
We’re fuck all like Leeds were in terms of infrastructure and a morn prolonged stint in Europe behind us.
Take away the ownership issues we all have with spending money, it’s there to spend if we wanted to.
I was being ironic mate

Herc last night said "bye bye" in Kane thread. Now if that happens its another nail in the coffin for Levy and his reputation with spurs fans. I would say for a lot of spurs fans it's the final nail in the coffin selling arguably our best ever player. There will be no way back for him and his standing with fans once that's done and include myself in that.

I'm no Levy fan, but what is he supposed to do, get in money now and (hopefully reinvest, but that's a separate argument), or lost him to a prem rival next summer, with zero guarantee he'll carry us in to the CL playing for a new manager, with a new system and new players? Rock and a hard place spring to mind.

You don't sell arguably your best ever player you just don't. And for what, 80-100m?! It's not exactly a game changing amount is it. We'll sell him for less than hammers sold Declan Rice FFS. Yea I know age, contract position etc but you just don't do it.

There is an insane amount of cope happening regarding Kane leaving on here. We should never be in a position where we need to sell Kane for financial reasons, we are one of the richest (most revenue) clubs IN THE WORLD. Why do we NEED to sell him? The answer is we don’t. I completely agree with you.

He's supposed to not let it get to this point at all. If he actually invested what we could invest into the team we could actually compete with the top clubs because we had a homegrown 30 goal a year striker land in our laps for free. It is the rarest thing to happen and he's blown it.

But we ARE at this point, I'm not saying it's the right position for us to be in, or that we NEED to sell him for the money. But given the choice of ~£80m + now and he goes abroad or we get nothing, and that means CL football next year as that's incredibly likely, and he goes to a direct rival, pushing further back in the pecking order, what do you do? Stubbornly hold on to him for a year for what?

So should Levy keep Kane for another season and then Harry leaves on a free as he will be able to do as he likes . ?

There's also the question of whether Ange wants someone around who isn't 100% committed. I don't think he'll be as bothered about losing Kane as many supporters.

Well we have to sell to Bayern. We have no choice. But the fact we are where we are is exactly why his position should untenable. Kane has basically carried us ti multiple CL qualifications and we have abused his loyalty

100%

You don't sell arguably your best ever player and not for the prices being quoted which will do very little for the club.
This thinking is just blind stubborness IMO.

Levy is totally to blame for the reason we are in the position we are with Kane, but in the position we are its preposterous to have him stay one year and then go on a free where he likes next year for free. Especially with a new manager coming in this summer.

And he isn't our best ever player, he's our best at the moment. Infact he would probably struggle to get in teh top 5 of players that have actually worn the shirt

I'm 1 bazillion % Levy out though, to clarify

I don't think it's unreasonable to say that the majority of fans are not going to stay silent over the way we are continually being set up for failure whilst being charged the highest prices in the league.

In my opinion, things at board level or ownership level need to change.

To leave us with the same backline that we ended last season with is inexcusable. We need AT LEAST 2 defenders, probably 3.

I think we've all run out of nails.
Nothing changes.
"last chance"
"last roll of the dice"

People said this in 2019.
Apathy remains, and so does Levy and ENIC.
They profit whilst we continue to suffer and be the banter club of the Prem.
We're still sinking...its gonna get worse....this season will be an utter utter shambles

I think that's grossly unfair on a whole load of our other players.

I've just replied to a post in the Scott Munn thread. Our clubs openness and accountability is appalling. Everything is kept under wraps and everything is a big secret.
I can't help but think that a bit more communication would go a long way to appeasing the fans.
Obviously there will be reasons why things can't be shared but surely in the case of Scott Munn a brief statement explaining the delay and and an expected start date would help?

We're in this position because Levy hasn't matched Kane's ambition on the pitch.

That would mean having a modicum of respect for the fanbase. They clearly don't.

I thought Conte was the last roll of the dice - virtually everyone said so, including me. I really believed the penny had finally dropped - what a fool I was !

Until Levy is shown there are some real consequences for running the club the way he does, he absolutely will not change and won't even pretend to change.

Those consequences as I have said before include vociferous ferocious cauldron of protests and revolt inside that stadium every single game (and not just from our magnificent away support), and boycotts of the club shop and food and drink concessions inside the ground.

If we want change, this is what needs to happen. Anything less and levy doesn't give a shit. He might not like the occasional Levy out chants, but that is nowhere near enough to move the dial.
