...unless you dont like the playerI thought this whole backing the manager thing meant getting players he wants.
That's fair and of course appreciate the notion that this is indeed a forum to discuss/debate the merits. As I alluded to above, I don't see a problem with people discussing the pros and cons of transfer targets. It's a football discussion forum, after all. It's not like fans aren't backing Ange by discussing whether they think it would be a good transfer.
Let’s be fair here, if Havertz gets his performances for Chelsea written off and a new opportunity to show what he can really do, with people referring back to his Leverkusen days as a measure of his potential then you should do the same for Gallagher. Chelsea are a bloody shambles and I’ll judge him on his performances for Palace in which he was actually pretty phenomenal. He was at least alright at almost everything worked his socks off and scored goals. Depends on the price but I think he’d surprise a few at how well he would suit the Ange style. Something around 30m or just over would probably be fair if you’re judging him from when he was playing in a well organised side getting regular minutes
People on here are a joke. Happens every time. It's always 'lets back the manager' until it's someone they don't like.
Yes but this was the view we heard and read about Conte a million times on here. Let's not let it stifle the debate or our views. If the manager wants him then that's the important thing.
It might not work out and the experts on here will tell us it was dead obvious because he's shit.
But backing the manager is getting the players in he wants to implement his vision.
Simple as that.
Personally I think Veiga is tailor made for a 8 in Ange's system as well as having incredible potential. He would be an excellent addition if we could pull it off. Of course there is a lot of competition but still, he'd make a lot of sense IMO. But obviously if HG is the thing then Scott is well covered name. I know he's still potential rather then the complete package but that is exactly what Gallagher is at this point also who is older and doesn't have the same raw ability, really we would be buying him in hope that he would be able to find his Palace form. Aside from that even at Palace I don't think he was particularly remarkable. He deosn't seem to excel at anything, just seems a decent all round player. Anyway, i'd still be surprised if Chelsea agreed to deal with us for a reasonable fee.All those names are better investments
You have no idea what our scouts views on players are mate. Or what their brief is for a player in this position. Could be 'home grown, prem experience, young, available, high energy central mid'Even if Ange likes Gallagher, there are likely a host of other players who our scouts (and the majority of us) will view as much better signings
Don’t think anyone has said he’s going to be the next Xavi but he’s more likely the next Maddison/Grealish talent tearing it up in the Championship and so better to try and get him now rather than miss out and then if we want him in a few years time it’ll be for triple the price. Also people need to get over this obsession with Alex Scott - an extremely talented player, no doubt, and one I'd like to have at Spurs. But he's being glorified on here like it is dead certain he's going to be the next Xavi or something.

He plays a lot deeper for the England U-19s from what Iv seen. He could easily adapt.Don’t think anyone has said he’s going to be the next Xavi but he’s more likely the next Maddison/Grealish talent tearing it up in the Championship and so better to try and get him now rather than miss out and then if we want him in a few years time it’ll be for triple the price.
We used to work really well buying young British talent from the championship etc, Walker, Dawson, Lennon, Carrick, Defoe etc etc.
No need for people to ‘get over’ Alex Scott, a lot are just excited that he looks like a very good young talent well worth a gamble, sometimes you just get a feeling about a player like Grealish, Maddison etc that they have quality and are pretty likely to succeed and Scott is one of those.
That being said there will be a lot of competition for his signature and he’s more of a 10 so not sure we need that right now, but he or Gallagher would both be good signings in different ways.
