Maybe it's attitude and commitment that's holding him back, maybe its that his natural talents do not include an elite capacity for stamina. I don't think all the training and dieting in the world would ever allow me to complete 90 minutes of a premier league match.

I don't know what's the right answer. I hope it's his mentality, because that can be improved. If, thanks to genetics, his natural ceiling is just too low, that's too bad, because there's no changing your DNA.

There would be nothing more spurs than him coming good this season, us panicking that he’s only got a year left signs a new contract then does nothing again.

Was going to link some clips, but the fact you think this makes me think i'd be wasting my time.

His weight of pass is actually brilliant.

"He doesn't have any attributes of a good player."

Fucking hell :LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Changed my mind, watch this (Yes it's youtube highlights) and tell me one midfielder we currently have that has the skill set that he does..

The weird thing with your post is 99% of Spurs fans can appreciate he's extremely talented, thats not the issue, its the other stuff. For you to say he's not a good player is just plain stupid.

Also worth noting, he's gone away for a year and who knows, maybe he's had time to reflect on what he done wrong before, everyone deserves another chance, especially under a new manager.

I mean he’s far more suited to Ange's style of football than he was under Jose,Nuno or Conte.

There are three issues:
1) Attitude: can he improve his attitude?
thoughts: mabye he won’t or mabye he’ll have grown up mentally a bit who knows
2) Fitness: can he press and run and pass and move consistently for 60-80 mins or more?
thoughts: unlikely, he just doesn’t seem to have that kind of fitness or the desire to really work hard on it like say Emerson has done to improve in different areas
3) Confidence and feeling settled: can he get a run of games in the team, can he get the manager and fans believing in him? what will he do without his best pals Aurier & Sissoko? Does he miss France? Does he like it in England or is the culture just not for him?
thoughts: I don’t think he likes or is suited to England, Tottenham and the culture and that’s fine, some people take to it others don’t, he seems like a very shy boy, i think he’d be best back in his home country and native tounge of France back around family and friends and then his football can thrive

I’m all for giving players 2nd,3rd chances etc but there are just too many reasons why I really can’t see him working out for us and it’d be best all around if we parted ways.

We shall see.

You definitely are :LOL: There's no way someone who's wached Tanguy a decent amount of times could honestly, without bias state "He doesn't have any attributes of a good player " - and no amount of compilations will change that opinion. Such is life.
Thats what pisses me off, I get it people want him gone due to other reasons, but to say he's just shit makes me think that persons opinion isn't worth listening to because as a footballer he's the complete opposite.
In terms of raw natural talent I'd say he's top 10 players I've seen at Spurs in my lifetime. Maybe even top 5.

If he had the attitude and commitment to match his ability he could be world class.

Completely agree. He reminds me so much of the GOAT that is Moussa Dembele, just shrugs off most players, and does that "turn" Moussa did so often at the perfect moment that left 3 players stranded.

I'm definitely not saying we should 100% keep him, but seeing as we have a new manager with a new philosophy and ideas, it would be stupid not to let him have his opinion and see if he can get something out of him.

Funny thing is he's the quintessential spurs player in every way. But people will prefer some work horse. I pay to go to spurs to watch this kind of player
No, people just want players to show some effort.
Nobody would rather watch Sissoko over Tanguy if they both applied themselves in the same way.

We're all Spurs fans, our over-riding desire is for flair and attacking football but it has to also be accompanied by some actual effort, otherwise it's all rather pointless.

His problem is he takes no responsibility in the game when his team doesn't have the ball. It's not just effort in the physical sense, he'll do basic pressing, but it's being switched on, tracking runners, covering space. It's 50% of a central midfielder's game and he has zero interest in it.

I make no excuses for his work ethic or his attitude but playing for a manager that demands attacking football, promotes and encourages risk and generally wants to dominate games with passing and possession, has to sound far more appealing to Tanguy then the previous managers we've had. That goes for the whole team. I can imagine Mourinho and Conte's prematch speeches were more about " Don't make mistakes " where Ange seems to be more about " Take clever risks and I'll support you " - that difference in messaging is powerful.

Was talented. He’s done next t f all in his last two seasons. He isn’t that good on the ball any more, had a highlight reel of a few things in Italy, did f all at Lyon. He has the odd flash of brilliance but it isn’t enough to warrant having him in the side.

90% of the times in that video when he beats a man he does zero with it after, loses the ball or slows down the play too much. Pointless being some street baller who can beat the first man if you offer nothing else

Does seem like Ange will be happy for him to be part of the group but possibly a player who plays parts rather than a starter.

From what we know, Ange tends to sub a lot of players around 60 mins due to the demands so that means we need a big midfield base.

Sarr, Skipp, Bissouma, Bentancur (when returned) plus new signing - is not great depth in this regard.

So Ndombele will probably be given the season, or at least til January to maybe just act as an extra part. If he turns it around and shows he can dominate consecutive periods or games, then great if not he will just be sidelined and as we only have 1 game per week mostly, it may not be a huge issue.

If it's not working we may address it in January or when we can le him go.

If he can be bothered, he could be exactly what Ange needs in an 8.

He does not have endurance but he has quickness and agility and the passing scheme is pretty simple.

Like I said earlier I am not a huge fan since he walked off the pitch when we were losing the cup match - but this could be a good fit if he puts in the effort.

And training videos look like he is off to a good start. Let’s hope it continues.

But like the Dele thing with Ndombele, there is a proper player there, but it’s gotta be let go.

who knows, weirder things have happened

No way is it fair to compare him to Dele, so unfair to D.
Dele has at least produced something to want to give him a chance and been great for a bit. Still waiting for that from TN.

I don't like Ndombele.

But, if Ange thinks he can get a tune out of him - go for it. I imagine everyone will know where they stand on this by the end of the Asia tour.

One thing that could play in Ndombele's favor - Ange won't expect him to go 90 minutes. Maybe he sees Ndombele as a player who can give maximum effort for 20-30 minutes, or in a best case scenario 60+ minutes.

If Ndombele is here in September - he has my full support.

I would find it hard to support him in September due disrespectful attitude he has shown.

It's always been a cheap attempt at humor by some "clever" posters - but as that clip just confirmed, he doesn't have a belly and he isn't fat.

Mate I don't think we Spurs fans are spiteful without reason. If he was putting a shift in and a fat fucker we would not care!

Fuck off buddy, that's a stretch. Moussa is a legend. Disrespectful comparing the two!

We still miss Moussa!

The amount of Tanguy cocksuckers is unbelievable. The guy has fleeced the club for years and it does not feel right to let him just walk back in. No Europe and no need for great depth and no need for him!
