Would you be comfortable with any player presenting a list of coaches that they want?
Yes, if that player was the heart and soul of the club and prevented the team from entering obscurity and possibly relegation…

One wonders if Kane (who doesn’t appear to be all that vocal) can at least give Levy a list of managers that could entice him to stay… If so, I seriously doubt that individuals like Ange and Rodgers would be on that list…
Tbh mate I think right now the only thing he’s probably thinking about is if he should try and force his way out now or ride out his contract and pick up a fat signing on bonus next summer.

Absolutely not. The players should play for whichever manager is appointed. The players have to much control as it is. It shouldn't matter who they want. They have a job to do and that is to play football.

Possibly but we heard some ramblings that he is quite knowledgeable about world football and I would like to think he would some ideas regarding suitable managerial candidates…
I don't think so. That's not how I've heard it anyway. That's not me having a go, as I don't think that's what he's here for.

My issue with Potter is his personality. Our next coach needs to be someone who can pull together what is an incredibly fractured club and fanbase, someone we can all rally behind. A lot of us gravitated toward Slot for this reason, you could tell just from his manner that he had Poch vibes.

Potter ticks a lot of boxes tactically but he's just a bit too "year 9 geography teacher that can't control the classroom" for where we are at the moment, plus a lot of fans can't and won't countenance another ex-Chelsea boss.
Such a good post 👏 completely agree

I don’t get this mentality at all.

The players are at the heart of everything - of course their opinion matters.

What is the point in appointing a manager the players aren’t on board with for whatever reason - either pedigree, style of play or style of management.

You cannot change your entire squad - and you won’t get the best out of them if they aren’t 100% behind the manager.

Yes you can.
If players don't like it they can leave.

I’m happy to believe in anyone who’ll play good football and reminds me why I love this club. No more endurance tests.

We’ll have a lot more time, so they’ll be able to work with the team more than any recent manager, who often have been trying to build the plane in the air. It could be the making of something tight knit and truly special. I really hope so.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I am not aware of this ever being a thing before. The coach is recruited because they have been checked out first. It doesn't always work but the idea of sitting down with Kane and going through a list of coaches is daft. At this stage of his career, he'll be off in the summer or next summer.

Not saying he is the answer but at what point does Mason come into contention?

As in which options need to be off the table and would people rather Mason than say the likes of :
Potter
Rodgers
T.Frank
Glasner
Galtier
Will Still
S.Conceiao
Etc

I personally would. He has 6 yrs coaching experience he totally 💯 gets exactly what the club and squad need.

Now I’m not saying he should get the job and tbh it would be a huge huge failing on Levy if Mason ended up getting it but what I’m saying is if for some reason we(Levy) is unable to or for some crazy reason can’t get or won’t consider any of : Naglesmann, Poch, Slot, De Zerbi, Amorim, Big Ange, Gallardo, L.Enrique… then at that point surely Mason would start to become a better option than some of the other scraping the barrel names?

The jump in competition is absolutely massive. Even more so than Slot.

Last coach to jump from Scotland to England and be a genuine success was who? Fergie? At 57 we're going to be the only team to uncover this gem of a manager?

In '21 lost to FC Midtjyllan so didn't qualify for champions league, didn't make it out of the group in Europa league giving up 15 goals in the group stage, then lost both legs against Bodo/Glimt to get knocked out first round in conference league.

Ange has absolutely cleaned up the Scottish league - as Celtic pretty much always do. I just don't see at all how he would be the man to right the ship and bring us back into top 4 contention.
Little bit of cherry picking with that info to prove a point
